LOL! Chrissy, no fair! I was going to be so good and ignore that remark!

Well, now Christmas is really over. My daughter and SIL and grandson Eric (10) just left, after a hearty lunch and a happy afternoon. Lots of good conversation and opening gifts...I have a beautiful new frying pan, a heatproof spatula, and some cute kitchen gadgets, and Mom has a big jar of Damson plum preserves... ...and a half-pound block of excellent chocolate. (Somebody restrain Jackie, please..)

Now back to the same ol', same ol', at least til January, when I can get four days off to go to New Hampshire, Mass., and Rhode Island. Starting to coordinate this one; I have been making promises too long!

Boxing Day is just so "cut-in-stone" here, that I truly can't imagine only one crummy day off for Christmas, especially in mid-week? Have the family over, stuff youself with food and goodies - and then go to work the nexy day?

Positively uncivilized..... :faint: :faint: :faint:

Watched the province-wide weather on BCTV News, out of Vancouver at lunch - REEMS of towns in southern and central BC set record highs yeterday - some as much as 16! That's over 60, for you southern friends!
"Sweater-weather for Christmas - Holy COW!"

Murray, that is the way I have always felt, Boxing day or no. When I was working and had Christmas off, I always planned ahead to have at least one day off before and one after, to get ready, and to recover.

Everyone needs to recover - even children. We left our daughter's last night just after seven and the kids were headed to a joint bath and then bed. One slept until 8 this morning and the other until 9. Very not normal.
All the festivities can wipe people out.
One of the nursery schools one of our grandchildren goes to does nothing for Christmas - no religious or PC reason behind it. They simply feel it's overkill.
I am into overkill :) Just opened the truffles a bit ago. A serving is 3 pieces. Way over a serving by now - tee hee

We just got home from the mall. Now I think I took 2 young ladies ( 15 & 17 ) with me

Five hours later, almost every store and they came home with 85% of their Christmas money. Oh and 3 small bags. Some stores were just crazy.

I bought them gift cards for La Senza and they even still have some credit on them. I would have no problem spending in that store.

I am so tired. Guess I should feed them.

Welcome home Lynne
