Thank God for WalMart. In and out and finished my Christmas shopping, including 2 six packs of Shiner, in 20 minutes! Hint: Use the Gardening section, all but empty, no lines at cash register.

First thing the wife says, when I got home, is, you know what I really want, a gold necklace. Already knew that but told her, I already spent the last 4 hours fighting other shoppers to get you a table saw, I am not going back!

Women! :dunno:

Well, Santa'a getting farther than you did! Thanks for the NORAD link, btw. Santa is right over the Taj Mahal in India and is three minutes ahead of schedule.

Chris, you sound like you follow the same Philosophy my father used to, but you've got to work on it a bit:

The Angus Bell Method of Christmas Shopping:

Spend November/December compiling a list of gifts for each family member (3 ideas per person)

Sleep in late on Christmas Eve - you want to be well rested.

Drive to the biggest mall in the city somewhere after 3:30PM - By then, the malls are emptying. - Remember Yogi Berra's dictum "Nobody goes there any more, it's too crowded."

Start at one end of the mall, picking from your list as fast as you can go, buying things only from stores that do giftwrapping. - This is the reason for 3 things per person - many things are sold out by this time, you need alternates.

By the time you reach the other end of the mall, you're done - race back, picking up the by-now giftwrapped items as you go.

Drive home, put everything under the tree, open your favourite beer, and watch the traditional Christmas Eve Hockey Game.

No need to hide presents, store them, or any other details... And no stress! (Well, maybe the 20-30 minutes in the store, but it's over fast...) He claimed his plan never failed!

Hello to everyone, Well our Christmas is going to be a sad one
as we've had a death in the family which makes it hard to carry on,
but we are trying. I'd like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas
and just say Thank You to all that make this forum what it is.

Chris, you sound like my DH, he told everybody I was getting a new chain saw.

My, my - all the hustling and bustling! Well, I feel it breathing close on my neck here, too - DW looks like she's getting suited up for combat any time soon! :floorrollin:

I'M FINALLY STARTING TO FEEL A BIT BETTER! :holiday:
Doc put me on a stronger Med when I saw him last Monday and it appears to be kicking in - the fluid is definately reducing, with accompanying "increase in comfort" - especially in the various forms of sitting!
;)

Glad I had done most of my shopping a couple weeks ago, before going into town became out of the question... got the wrapping done yesterday.

Hope everyone has a splendid evening! Still looks like one of our RARE "Green Christmas's" - +7 today, +8 tomorrow. Chance of showers both days.

ps - how nice to pick up a new member just before Christmas - cool!

Roz, I'm so sorry to hear about the sad news. We lost my husband's Father two days before Christmas 5 years ago. I understand the sadness. Know that we are thinking of you.
