Good Morning. Time to wake up you sleepy heads, too much partying last night at the forum? I must admit my stomach feels a little weird at the moment, maybe an Irish coffee will do some good. :xmascheers:
We had a tremendous amount of rain yesterday and lasted into the evening. Had a great time with our friends from out of town, went to a nice restaurant close by.
Painter should be here today to finish painting the stairway and maybe the downstairs foyer, then we'll see him after the new year. Carpeting on Monday.
Hopefully I'll make the eggnog today. :xmascheers:

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning! Glad to see someone else here; I've been wandering aimlessly :)

It didn't snow last night!!!! Flurries predicted every day this week, but no appreciable snow expected.

We ended up moving furniture between rooms yesterday and my back knows it today :( Moved a loveseat and end table from the family room to the living room and took two fireside chairs and table from living to family. This way it opens up the family room a little to make THE ROOM more visible. In all its unfurnished glory.

That truck better show up tomorrow - our furniture was loaded and remains loaded and it better get unloaded. But, Rick and Terri deserved their furniture first! Hope their move went well

Kids coming for dinner today. Postponed since poor Colleen was still not feeling well by noon yesterday.

So, have a day :holiday:

When I answered Natures call (more like "scream" - I'm on diruetics ;) ) at 7:00, I felt good enough to say "Forget it - I'm staying up!" Remember, I always said before 7:00 is obscene, between 7:00 and 8:30 is only rude.

Man-o-man - all the moving and redecorating going on around here... I can see it now: "Dang It!!! WTH happened to the turkey baster? Run out and buy a new one, will you?"
Which will be met with rolled eyes and an expression that says, "On Christmas DAY? Yeah, and Mur's hair is going to grow back, too"... :faint: .

Almost afternoon but Good Morning ;)

Mur, good to hear from you even if it is too darn early.

Pat, knew moving around and standing and staring at THE ROOM planning and re-planning it all would go on. Great empty play room :)

Ed and JG have gone to Boone just for the day :faint: to see John and family. We did early Christmas with them but Ed wanted to take some hand me down tools, microwave broke and we had an extra one/items he had promised John. I really dislike the one day up and back runs (about 7 hrs in car). Spoiled using MH ;)

Chrissy, your NC foothills got pretty darn cold and icy this last storm I hear ;)
Power still out in many areas of the mountains. Hickory out of power including hospital...generator?!? Was Morganton one of the areas you visited? Someone offered John a job down that way. Some kind of a medical complex.

Good day all,

:yammer: Kate

Tory, blowing out his candles. Had a very pleasant family evening celebrating his birthday.

If the battery is low in the camera, will the pictures be blurry? Don’t seem to be able to get a pic on my camera that is clear.

With luck, might be able to get my craftroom set up today.

Have a great day.

Mur, could to see you up at any time of the day.

Kate, we like the town of Tryon in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. When we were talking to real estate in October they mentioned Tryon didn't get any snow last year.......If they do it usually melts the next day............I'll look up the weather for that area.
Thanks for the updates. :) :)

Sylvia, nice picture of Tory, a little blurry as Kate said.........How old is he?

Yes, I remember Tryon was where you looked at some property, where your parents lived for a while and where you went to their old house, right? See and you thought I wasnt paying attention :floorrollin: :fryingpan:

They kept saying foothills and even that northern SC had been iced on weather so I thought of you and knew it was unusual.

Morganton is north of I40 and for some reason thought it was an area maybe near campground...I am probably :screwy:

:yammer: Kate

edit: went back and looked it was Marion where you were not Morganton :fryingpan: :screwy: me

In all reality, it's a great empty frigid playroom :floorrollin:
If it's still empty by tomorrow night, you'll hear me in North Carolina. :grinch:

Still just a skip of snow out there Currently: -14° / 7° feels like -20°

Sure have lots to do today. I have an extremely busy week ahead of me.

The girls went shopping yesterday and got back late so they are going to put up the tree today.

A different friend has asked me out for supper. There is this rib place I really like so wants to take me there.

With Cara only here till Jan 2, Auntie has lots to take her too. I will share as we do them. I am so looking forward to sharing some of the stuff Nicole and I do with her.

I want to give her such a special holiday

I hope we get enough snow so we can go tobogganing with her. Last yr when I wiped out, I was way over here with the toboggan and Nicole over there :floorrollin: :floorrollin: we laughed so hard laying in the snow. She laughed even harder becasue I split the a-- out of my outer pants. Good thing we did not have far to walk home :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

Well, best get me butt in gear and get stuff done :snowglass:

My goodness, Karen, you do have the busy social life...

Alison and Katrina stayed this morning til my daughter, niece & husband arrived, and they had a short but nice visit before Alison had to leave to visit her sister in Rhode Island before heading back to NH. We then had another great turkey dinner; re-run from last night. (Note: roasted turkey reheats GREAT in an oven bag!)

Our big sad news: a sparrow hawk got the smallest Bantie this morning. Poor chickens are still traumatized and have spent the entire day underneath the shed, just creeping out now and then for water and corn. More than ever, I want to get them inside the shed. Besides that, they are suddenly, shamelessly, "doing the nasty" as Alison put it, and I know there are soon going to be eggs underneath the shed, frozen and useless.

Oh Heather, what a tradegy, sorry about the chicken..........didn't you mention having a coop built for the chickens this coming year? That will be a big help.
Good news is you had a nice visit with Alison and Katrina and now your daughter, niece and husband. You're a busy woman.
