Good morning, all...raining hard here and very icy, though the temperature is around 35*. It just started to get brighter, so maybe the end is in sight. Everything is frozen so hard that even heavily salted walks are still freezing from the bottom up and every step is treacherous. Now I am going up to the attic to haul out the tree and put it up, and the lights. Back later, when I grab that second cup of coffee! |

Good morning everyone, sunny 44 degrees at the moment, high in the 60's today. I have to run back to T.J.Maxx and buy more wrapping paper. I bought a roll yesterday, wasn't crazy about the print but it's "great paper" (Frank's words).Hopefully today sometime I will make a batch of cookies, reading "Seasonings" is making me feel guilty. Have a great day...........be careful drving to our friends living where there's snow and ice. |

Good snowy morning! The snow just stopped but it's been steady since last evening. Have no idea of the total, but it's a lot. Virtually all the schools are closed. It's pretty to look at, but that's about it. Luckily I have nowhere I need to go, so we will just nest. According to the TV, there are lots of fender benders. Haven't seen a plow yet. This better not slow down our furniture delivery Have a day :holiday: |

Driver just called They are taking their trucks off the road. Too dangerous. The stuff is all loaded so we will have to be on the next delivery day, which won't be Saturday, but I am annoyed. Rotten snow. :grinch:Edit ~ Have been rethinking this, and while I am annoyed, I am less annoyed. It would be more important for Rick and Terri to get all their furniture rather than ours being delivered. So I hope they do! Time for some Christmas cheer! :xmascheers: |

![]() “Good morning” says the bunny rabbit, “you wouldn’t happen to have some left over carrots I can eat?” Here’s my Santa cloth quilt: ![]() Finally got it up! One or two things still need to be added, other stuff just needs to be cleaned up, but they won’t be getting done before Christmas. While doing this quilt, I discovered a new way to classify people. Those that look at the back of my quilt, are NOT my friend, and those that just say, “Isn’t that amazing!” are. Anyone who asks me, “How much did it cost to make it?” is a potential marriage buster. I’ve lost track of how much money I have invested in it and there’s no way I’m telling Haydn how much the figure was when I lost track. I probably could have paid a really good quilter to make it for me! This is the biggest quilt I’ve made so far. It’s more than 5’ wide x 4’ high. Had lots of problem taking that picture. For some reason, several were blurry and that one isn't particularly clear, but that's the best I can do. Sylvia |

Sylvia...that quilt is Amazing. You have so much talent it astounds me.I have become interested in making a quilt lately. My criteria....warm and not too complicated....do I need some sort of frame or if I baste will it be okay to not use a frame. How about a picture of your floor....you too Pat. Thank you...

You could make something as simple as pot holders. They don’t require any frames. Basically, there are two kinds of quilting, appliqué and piecing. I’m a devotee of appliqué. In appliqué, you put the design on a backing, in piecing, each piece makes up the design. Look for easy patterns, or take a class. My first experience with quilting was with a class. It was a wall hanging about 2’ x 3’. The one I have just made incorporates both types. The houses and the Santa are appliqué, the background is pieced. Parts of the background and around the appliqué are machine quilted. Took 2 1/2 Saturday classes to make this quilt. Taking quilting classes is an opportunity to meet other quilters and it gets the project done sooner than doing it alone. I'm making two tree skirts--one is for my daughter that is pieced, the second is for myself and it's appliqué,...both will be machine quilted after the design is in place. Sylvia |

Sylvia, I'm speechless, absolutely beautiful quilt, you very talented........ Pat, sorry about the delay in the furniture delivery, I know that's disappointing. Mother nature and all that. My son has been waiting for the delivery of an entertainment center he was under the impression would receive it two weeks ago. Now he has to wait til after the new year. |

Thanks for the info Sylvia. I am not interested in wall hangings. It is cold here and I have to be in my motorhome for about a month starting in Jan what with house remodeling. I need to make a couple of really warm bed quilts. I am going to buy wool for the top then of course the liner and bottom.
