-4C/24F not much snow today. Yesterday was a great day for driving…the roads were bare. Got almost all my Christmas shopping done in one afternoon.

Today, I’m finishing my Santa cloth quilt so I can hang it up. Must remember to call the vet today—Frosty needs his shots before Christmas or we won’t be able to bring him to North Carolina with us. He wouldn’t like that and neither would we.

Haydn made a seat for him for the trip—just have to add some padding and a cover for it. It’s more comfortable for a long trip if he doesn’t sit on my knee the entire time—wouldn't mind at all if he wasn't such a fart arse.

Baby, it's cold outside! It's only 4 and might go to mid-teens, but it is beautiful and sunny - and no snow coming today

I've got a pie in the oven to warm the place up and treat my husband since he's getting a fasting blood test right now. Pie for lunch works :)

If you aren't familiar with my culinary skills, don't get too excited about my baking - Mrs. Smith and I are bosom buddies. This particular Dutch Apple Crumb got rave reviews at Thanksgiving - a daughter brought two since she ran out of time. They are good pies.

Whatever your plans are - have a day :holiday:

Good morning, Pat, we won't tell if you don't. I like Mrs. Smith pies!

Sylvia, is this a typo, or is it what you meant to say...:

LOL! in either case!

+7 F here this morning; my chickens have discovered the paths I shoveled for them (yes, I did!); one goes over to their favorite spot under the big pine tree and they are huddled together in about 10" deep pine needles, with the sun shining on them. Their feathers are glossy now and irridescent blue and green from certain angles. I am tempeted to get some heat tape to put around their house, but Tim assures me it isn't necessary. What keeps them from freezing their little combs?

Mom and I are going to her December lunch with retired co-workers; at Amici's in Middletown. First time we've been there; I'll be interested to see what it is like.

I made meringue kisses and Sachertorte cookies yesterday; they came out perfect! and are stored away in tin boxes. I never have enough of those during the holidays (boxes, not cookies). The worst thing is, I know there's a big bag of them stored somewhere...in the attic. :faint:

Good morning, a little late again, can't seem to get up early anymore.
All this talk about pies, etc. I just may bake some cookies this week.
Problem is I will eat most of them and gain weight, so I've been putting it off.
Weather tomorrow is supposed to hit 72. Wow, then the next day get cold again. :)

Toll House cookies next on the list - waiting for the butter to soften.
Chrissy, just freeze them all when they're baked and then you won't eat them.

Heather,

So which word wasn't spelled right, 'fart' or 'arse'? :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

A fart arse, doesn't usually stay in one place for very long for a variety of reasons, but I think they would have something to do with hot air and possibly odour! Couldn't possibly be a figgidy temperament!

Good morning all!!!

The sick ward here is getting better. Greg may head to work tomorrow. Maybe still to soon, but it's his decision. :faint:

Pat, once upon a time, the toll house recipe use to call for shortening instead of butter or margarine. I made them once with margarine, and decided I liked them better with the shortening. So I still use shortening.  Don't have to wait for that to warm up. :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

Gotta get ready for work (see Karen, you aren't the only one :biting: ). Have a great day everyone!!!!
Greg, Dylan & Jasper too!

Good day all,

Hectic here so not much keyboard time.

Our 16 year old son JG who has been away at school for a year is coming home Friday so excitement and lots of doing here. We go to VA (Ed's family) in MH for Christmas on the 23rd. Ice called for tomorrow here so better get out and about. When JG gets home will be making some new school visits (10th grade) and don't want to still be shopping TOO :faint:

Hope to make party,

:holiday:

I thought the "f" word might have had an extra "R" in it! But I should have known you wouldn't be calling Frosty FAT! :fryingpan:

Patticake, if you lived closer we would definitely be doing a cookie swap! Or something...mmmm, German chocolate cake!

Well, that tears it! I had a bit of a coughing fit about 5:30 this morning, by the end of which I thought "Oh, to Heck with it - I'll stay up." I don't even remember getting in the LazyBoy, but I DO REMEMBER waking up in it at 20 to 9, TV blaring away. After which I negotiated the straightest line possible, back to bed - where I awoke in a rather sour stupour sometime after 11:00... :pfft:

So to all you of questionable mental health, that keep insisting 6 in the morning is the best time of day.... It is NOT, Okay!?! IT'S POSITIVELY OBSCENE! Anything before 7 am is obscene!
From 7 until 8:30 is rude, but not obscene. The period between 8:30 and 9 is like April - it's when the World transforms back into some semblance of civilization again.

SO! We all have that straight now, do we? :pistols: :pistols: :pistols:
Thank you - we now return you to regularly-scheduled programming....
