I've talked about the Fair Tax! Can we talk about that again?

I've talked about the Fair Tax! Can we talk about that again?

When asked that question, GW said "The County Fair should not be taxed and open to the public".

Oh I kid the president and he really didn't say that, and he isn't as dumb as he appears to be... is he???

A reporter asked President Bush if he was concerned about the West Nile virus.

He replied; "Oh no.... my people loaded me up with McAffee AND Norton; no problem."

Did you catch the new inflation numbers?

You think inflation is bad now, you should have been around during the 70's.

I had a girl friend that wore air filled falsies, she constantly complained about the cost of inflation. :fryingpan:

Bush's tax commission rejects overhaul.

Interesting most who argue against the Fair Tax dislike Bush. Seems you're on the same side now.

Corky: From this mornings paper - " US Imports Surge: Oil bill, CHINESE GOODS INCREASE. .
The nations oil bill surges to a record in August and so did goods imported from China, pushing the US trade deficit to the third highest level ever. And it is bound to get worse because hurricane related increases for oil are still ahead. The port of Oakland is a major hub for goods coming to the United States from China".
China has a major trade delegation arriving in Vancouver this week, the only difference in the alliance that Canada and the US have with China is, we don't go with a cup to the table.

Just racing through... A couple of comments...

Chris, would you quit referring to a National Sales Tax as a "Fair Tax"? Every time you say it, I think you've come up with something new... A Sales Tax may be many things, but what it most certainly isn't is new or fair, especially to low income earners who have no choice where to spend their money, and no cobbled up compensating payout is gonna make it so... Sorry, wrong thread.

More to the point, when people talk about new far east trade, US or Canada, why do they only think of China???

Canada in particular is looking to broaden its trading base to markets much beyond that...

Bruce "Chris, would you quit referring to a National Sales Tax as a "Fair Tax"? "

No. That is what the specific proposal before Congress is called. I use that specific name because I am talking about that specific proposal, not some generic, run-of-the mill, unfair, cobbled Sales Tax even I'd argue against.
