Edict From The Pope; No gays allowed in Cath. Seminary

Time out!
I just posted that this proposed edict is not concerned with the pedophilia issue.
It is simply an isolated issue about homosexuals in seminaries. Two different things. Sitting homosexual priests are not even supposed to be mentioned. It's seminarians - priests in training.

Castrate all the priests and put them on suppressive drugs, should solve the problems and would work across the board. Not like they'd be losing anything they haven't already pledged to give up!

Bingo!

Thanks Corky, you talked me out of becoming a priest. Well that and the fact that I'm not a Catholic really did the trick. Oops, can't talk about doing tricks, that implies Prostitution and just talking about that will make me one in the eyes of the intolerant ones. Oh, this is getting confusing. I better say "good night Gracie" and go work out.

Ooops, sorry, Jelly, my hasty generalization remark was in relation to what Ken said. I guess the extra spaces were not enough to separate that from my question about your subjective, personal truth. Sorry again.

Please don't pray for me JB. Your prayers may be answered and I'm not sure I would like the answer, or the original plea! You don't pray for me and I won't stick pins in your doll.

It's curious though for all that's said here, none of it seems relevant to the issue, as Pat has said, that edict has nothing to do with pedophilia, only homosexuals in seminaries.

I'll add one thing...

My experiences with being hit on by priests didn't stop when I was a kid...

Last time was in my 20s.

I never did succumb, although the times I was talking about have been during times when the "priest" was supposed to be acting in priestly duties (i.e., counseling).

Yes, there are problems with homosexuals in the priesthood.

Oh, no doubt, no disagreement there, but there are also problems with heterosexuals and cover ups. And none of that is addressed, and none of this touches on causes, and none of this has anything to do with the Pope's edict.

And the edict hasn't even been issued! New York Times via boston.com Their headline is inaccurate, but I posted this link on the first page of this thread.
The thread started off on the right foot.
The proposed edict, which has been in the works for years, will bar homosexuals from seminaries. That is the issue at hand. Ordained priests who are homosexual will not be part of this mix.
I think it's a pretty dumb plan. But, I'm not the Pope ;)

I dont know what the term would be. Molested seems like a harsher label than what is neccesary. At least from my experience.
He was inappropriate.
I never paid it much attention,,,as odd as that seems, until I ran into a friend of a friend....this girl went to the same school as me but was 2 years older.

There were quite a few girls at that school that *father* was inapropriate with.
