The following was just e mailed to me from a military site. Please read....

A notice in recent RV magazines says that Norcold will give you $50 free gas
if you own a recreational vehicle with a qualifying Norcold refrigerator, as
follows, and have it repaired by December 31, 2005:

* Two-door style: Model numbers N841, N821, N641, N621 and 1082 - found in
RVs made in 1999 - 2000.

* Four-door style: Model numbers 1200LR and 1200LRIM - found in RVs made in
1997 - 2000.

If your RV has one of these models, do the following things immediately:

1. Stop using the refrigerator.

2. Unplug it from the AC power source.

3. Read (below) for additional information.

4. Call Norcold at 1-800-767-9101.

Question: Why are you offering $50 gas money?

Answer: As Norcold first explained in 2002, there is a potentially
dangerous safety problem with the cooling unit on certain Norcold
refrigerator models. If these models are left unattended and operating, a
fire could result, causing property damage, injury or death.

Question: What should I do if I have one of these models?

Answer: Stop using it immediately! Unplug it from the AC power source and
call Norcold at 1-800-767-9101. We'll be glad to help you find the closest
Norcold refrigerator dealer.

Question: My refrigerator works fine. Why do I need to do this?

Answer: The problems with these models could become more serious as they
get older.

Question: What if I've already had the cooling unit on my Norcold
refrigerator repaired?

Answer: Thank you. Everything is fine. There's no need for you to call.

Question: What will you do if my unit must be repaired?

Answer: We'll replace the cooling unit on your refrigerator, give you a
one-year warranty and, oh yes, the $50 gas card - all at no cost to you.

How to tell if your refrigerator has been recalled:

1. Find the model number. All Norcold refrigerators have an identification
panel on the inside, upper right. The model number will be listed on the
panel.

2. Find the cooling unit serial number. Remove the refrigerator's intake
vent cover on the outside of the vehicle. Check the cooling unit's serial
number located in plain sight on the unit's lower right.

If your cooling unit's serial number falls within the appropriate sequence
for your refrigerator's model number, unplug it immediately and call Norcold
at 1-800-767-9101.

NOTE: The $50 free gas offer applies only to repairs made after March 21,
2005 and expires December 31, 2005.

Andrea,
Thanks for posting this. We do have a Norcold, but our particular cooling unit was not recalled. The model number was one of those mentioned, but not our actual unit.
