We had planned on stopping at the dealers on the way out, cuz we needed them to look at one of the slides that appeared to be leaking into the storage compartment when it rained. We also were gonna have them check the motor in the fireplace, as it was making noise, and the awning cuz it didn't roll up very well. Pretty minor stuff, considering.

Once they got the 5er in the bay, we went in to show them which slide, and what Greg thought was the problem. While we were looking at that, I noticed on the other slide that there was a piece of something sticking out. I mentioned it to the guy and they checked it out. Well apparently the slide was not adjusted properly, and rubbed the rubber off and was rubbing the metal! These slides have only been in and out 3 times since we picked it up. :faint: Well they gotta order new slide weather strips (?) and intall them, and of course readjust the slide. They also need to order a new motor for the fireplace. The awning, they already adjusted the tension in. I also insisted that they check all the slides. We never would have noticed that problem had we not had the leak. Funny how things work sometimes. :dunno:

No biggie I guess, just gonna be stuck here for awhile. Everything is very fixable. Will find out tomorrow approx. when the parts will be in. If they will be in Monday or Tuesday, we'll wait...if not, we may have to figure out a plan B. :floorrollin:

They have LOTS of Rv's here, maybe we'll do some tours tomorrow! :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

And this is NH afterall.....discount liquor stores, I guess we'll stock up for the rally!

Well, well, well :( I'm sure that's not what either one of you wanted to hear or do. At least none of them are major errors and if the parts can be overnighted or whatever, you should be home free. I know you built a cushion into your plans, and that in itself was a good plan. At least you will have the satisfaction of knowing that everything works properly when you head cross-country.
See you next week!

This could be dangerous :nono:

Sorry to hear that, but what better place that at dealer and it sounds like you're taking it in stride and it won't stop your adventuresome spirits--the drinking kind too! lol

I'd still see what they could do.....I mean it's under Warranty, it did leak, you have wet cusions, fudge it a little.

Sorry to hear of the glitches, but did anyone ever take delivery of a large RV with NO problems at all? I doubt it. Better to catch them now and get it right. But, they have to get you out in time to go to the Rally!!!

Jackie, how's everything going with the 5er? Keep us informed and hope all goes well. I know it's upsetting, but good you found the problems before you left. Can't wait to see you and Greg........

It's new kiddo. I remember always having a list after moving into new house. It's on wheels which adds to the frustration as you have to take it someplace to be fixed/adjusted. My friends who have been MHing a long time told us before we bought one, be flexible...be very flexible ;) These sound like simple issues to me so hope you will be back on the road quickly.

Well, the parts got ordered today. Some will be in on Monday, the rest on Tuesday. They are gonna work on it as soon as the parts come in. Apparently the Carriage Company won't pay to overnight the parts, so the dealer will pay that charge. They know we need to get going. Plus the fact that we are camped in their lot! LOL Puts a whole new spin on the thread asking about minimium requirements! :floorrollin: All we have is electricity, and whatever TV comes in on the antenna. The dump station is about 50 feet away, and they said they would dump the tanks when we needed it done, and would even take it to wherever the water is to fill the fresh tank if we need it.

I certainly can't complain about their service one bit!

Oh, by the way, the fabric that we ordered to fix the seats...............they sent the WRONG stuff! :faint: The fabric they sent doesn't even go anywhere in here. LOL I spoke with the woman at the Carriage company personally, so not sure what happened. Oh well, they can just send more fabric!

All in all, everything is very minor, just gonna take time to get it fixed. Should still be able to make it to the rally campground by Wednesday.

Well, Deer Run will look like the Waldorf to you guys - and Dylan! There will be grass there. Where are you taking him for exercise? Parking lot must get old.
Do not believe the fabric did not even belong in the rig!!! What do some people think?
Glad it will all be in and fixed and you will be off and running.
Deer Run, if you have forgotten, has W/E/S and cable - no wifi, but nothing is perfect :)
Enjoy the weekend - at least you can be online!

Yes Pat! It is the weekend, and unlimited phone minutes! :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

Actually, there are woods and grassy areas around the outside of the parking lot, so plenty of room for Dylan to run and play! Got trees as a view out our back windows, so it could always be worse, right? :floorrollin:

Made a liquor store run today, so that should get us through the weekend! :floorrollin: :floorrollin:
