Anybody planning any great trips these days? Rallies are happening, we know, but how about some other vacation plans, RV or otherwise.
Any excited planners out there?

We're going motorhoming this month.
We're going to WA to see our sailor son and sailor daughter in law. :cheering:
And then we're going to CA to visit with Bill's mother and brother :) and coming home through AZ, stopping to visit one of my cousins, and then home.
I think we'll go up through NM to WY then through ID. It looks like the fastest way and we'll be pushed for time this trip.

Short term...as newest employee in his department at the hospital, Richard is working every weekend for the next few months, so I'm not sure if we'll be able to get Memorial Day weekend off for the Rally in Oklahoma. After that, it's so hot in this part of the country, we usually don't camp or hike until fall.

We might take some day trips around Kansas though, on his days off until school starts this summer. We have quite a few Wildlife Areas, Cheyenne Bottoms is one...marshes, beaver, deer, fishing, etc. We're planning a campout with church members out at Fall River, east of Wichita in a beautiful wilderness area, in the fall when the weather cools off.

We both want to go back to The Orient hot springs in Colorado, outside Alamosa, north of the Great Sand Dunes Natl. Monument. It hold a very special place in our hearts and would be well worth the long drive.

Our oldest son has a trip planned for all of us to Mexico, next January, at an all exclusive resort. Other than that, we have long range plans of sailing on a Mercy Ship for 6 months before going full-time again.

Leaving after Memorial Day for Dallas and then wandering north to Wyoming and Idaho. No real plan just poking around and seeing the country. We figure two to three months on the road.

Weekend in New Hampshire coming up, at daughter Alison's house.
Then, the Rally.
Then in June, a whole week on Cape Cod!

I am hoping for a week or two to go to Louisiana in July but I doubt it'll happen...

We're planning a trip to Yellowstone in the fall, it is still under construction too.
Hubby is still working. I envy you that can travel around at leisure.

Corky...if you are near the Bridger Wilderness Area, Bridger-Teton NF, Shoshone NF, there's lots of awesome boondocking, or campgrounds with well water. We're talking north of Pinedale, or north and south of Dubois. I can also recommend a good campground called Sheffield, between the Tetons and Yellowstone, if you are going to be in that area. You would probably have all to yourself, as there's no sign on the road saying campground, but it is in Don Wright's book. We found it easily.

I just knew people were doing things!!! I have simply been remiss in asking.
After the NE Rally, our only firm summer plan is to go to Niagara Falls for a couple of days in June, mid-week, and stay in a hotel. Casino one day, Falls the next. I have this big desire to go on the Maid of the Mist again - it's been years since we have done that.
By the time we drive the rig over, pay for the gas, campground, etc...we may as well stay in a hotel and almost come out even moneywise. Plus, I don't have to cook this way. :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

TB,

I've been marking Don's spots in that area on my GPS for the last month, got a symbol and page number. We plan to spend quite a bit of time in that area.

Thanks for the heads up.
