Well here is a real cajun crawfish boil. 140 pounds of crawfish 20 lb. taters and 24 ears of corn, no sausage,or wieners this time. In the first picture, we are washing a sack of the four we had to cook.Posted Image
in the next one is the guest of honor, remember dont eat the dead ones.Posted Image
In this picture the icechest is about half full of crawfish and taters and corn. If the corn looks red its the pepper.LOLPosted Image
Now this is a full serving of cajun style crawfish platter. :P Posted Image
This picture is my group except for the ones that didnt want to get in the picture,(like me) I think they might be on americas most wanted list or something. DannyPosted Image

Danny...wonderful pictures of your crawfish boil on Good Friday!!! You make us miss Louisiana so! That's exactly how we've eaten crawfish...on those big round trays with potatoes and corn on the cob.

Looks like everyone is really enjoying the feast. You know you are in Louisiana when you see big boiling pots in stores everywhere, from the littlest convenience stores, to liquor stores to candy stores...all for boiling crawfish!!!! :hungry:

I loved that all businesses throw their employees or customers crawfish boils at least once a year. Our apartment management was going to throw us a pool BBQ crawfish party last year, but every weekend in the spring was rainy. We left before they had it.

Great pictures...thanks so much for posting them. Looks like you had a nice Good Friday with friends and family. :)

these were just family, none of them my friends,LOL sisterinlaws, (5) and my outlaws too. Off camera is three of my brother in laws and me. Camera shy. After all of them ate, we sat down and started eating and drinking, Well more drinking that eating. When it was all said and done, we had about two trays of crawfish and no potatoes and corn left. I bet you noticed that when you are at a cajun cookout the cooks are the last to eat and usually finish off the food. Thats cause we snack on the fixins all day long and aint really hungry when its all cooked. You ought to see us when we cook with a (cajun microwave oven) I guess I will have to do that next and post pictures. Company crawfish boil is on the 27th of april.

Great pictures Danny. When we were in Louisiana last year and were having dinner the waitress came over with a few crawfish on a plate for us to try. I admit I didn't know how to eat them and had already ordered shrimp for dinner. I wish I could remember the few places we had dinner and lunch. It's so nice you have a big family and get together for these wonderful feasts. Maybe one day Frank and I will get back to Louisiana and look you up. :)

Come on down, we always got plenty extra, and if we dont we will cook more. the thing about having extra company for lunch or supper, is we just add more pepper and it goes alot farther. LOL Danny :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

PRT, there is no wrong way to eat crawfish. If you are not as good as cajuns in peeling them you just wont get to eat as much as them. After all we had all our life to practice, I peeled them for my kids when they were little and had to peel for me at the same time, so I got real fast at it. If you get to neat with it you will miss out on alot of good eating. The first little piece on the tail behind the body gets twisted off with the body. Then you grab the meat with one hand and squeeze the bottom of the tail with the other and it pops out. takes a little practice but its really easy. Dip in your favorite sauce and eat away. the average cajun man eats 8 lbs, with 2 or 3 potoatoes and a couple of corns, and 4 or 5 beers. Major trick here is to use at least one stick of butter in the pot to each sack of crawfish, makes them easier to peel. When your nose runs, eyes water, and you get a little dizzy, (well thats the beer) you know you got them seasoned right. LOL Danny

Danny, maybe you should make a video of "how to eat crawfish". It may be easier for us to learn. Now, I don't need instructions on drinking beer, but prefer to drink it out of a bottle rather than a can. :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin:
