For Canada, you can see both the name and the picture here. But if you're short of time British Columbia - Pacific Dogwood Alberta - Wild Rose Saskatchewan - Western Red Lily Manitoba - Prairie Crocus Ontario - White Trillium Quebec - blue flag New Brunswick - Purple Violet Nova Scotia - May Flower Prince Edward Island - Lady's Slipper Newfoundland and Labrador - Pitcher Plant Yukon Territory - Fireweed Northwest Territory - Mountain Avens Nunavut - Purple Saxifraga Canada - Maple Leaf. The date each flower was adopted is extemely interesting too, especially for 'Canada'.

Jackie, But then again, Colorado's Rocky Mountain Columbine is a pretty flower also. Come to think of it, where DO you live, can we narrow this down to one state please, I'm getting confused..

![]() White trillium … also known as Wake Robin are the most common. They are from the Lily family. Picking the plant is discouraged in Ontario, as removal of flower and leaves may kill the plant or weaken the roots so that blooming will only reoccur in about 7 years. They were nicknamed Wake Robins because they bloom about the time Robins make an appearance in Spring. They can also be red or pink: ![]() ![]() We put a red one and two white ones on the gables of our house. ![]() Sylvia |

Hey, Kees!! We recognize that as the 'unofficial' flower for many states here too! One of the biggest cash crops in quite a few states, as a matter of fact. LOL |

Ok, follow closely Chrissy..... Maine is and I guess always will be home, since this is where I grew up and my family is here..... Officially, now, we are residents of South Dakota, or so says my drivers license... We will be working in Colorado this summer. Got it??? Here is a picture of our lovely "flower" ![]() White pine cone and tassel Pinus strobus, linnaeus White pine cone and tassel (Pinus strobus, linnaeus). Adopted by the Legislature of 1895. The White pine is considered to be the largest conifer in the northeastern United States. Leaves (needles) are soft, flexible and bluish-green to silver green in color and are regularly arranged in bundles of five. Needles are 2 1/2-5 inches long and are usually shed at the end of the second growing season. Flowers (strobili) occur on the tree. Cones are 4-8 inches in length, usually slightly curved. Cone scales are thin and never have prickles. Cones also have a fragrant gummy resin. |

Oh Cornelius, Love the "official" flower of the Netherlands. Now I have never tried any illegal drug, drink in my later years, but I have often thought of it. Too old at this point in my life and feel liquor is enough in the evening hours. When we were building our house the painter was always smoking grass. When things got stressful I used to tell him joking around "I'm getting close".... Actually I'd be afraid I might like it. It took me years to enjoy a drink. Besides, being married to a cop, it wouldn't have gone over well. He has handcuffs.
