Dont eat clams, but I just saw on the (bake your own bread channel) that if you are cooking clams and one is open already just tap it on the table and wait a minute. If it closes its alive, if not throw it. That wont work for crawfish, if they are dead they are dead.

Danny,
When I was young growing up in Long Island, New York I used to go clamming with my friend's parents on their boat. Ate the clams right out of the shell, no cocktail sauce or anything. Little Neck clams sound familiar?

Danny, why don't you eat clams?
If you come here to visit, I will take you to a seafood joint where you will have the best fried clams in the world. Mussels steamed with beer and garlic and butter are not so bad, either. :crazier: :crazier:

Chrissy, I love littlenecks. Sometimes when I am on the Cape I walk way out to the tide line at low tide and find some sea clams. All I really need is one; smuggle it back to the campsite and make a clam chowdah!

Hmmm, I don't ever remember being at any event that had clams served at them, that people looked over the clams to see if they were all alive or not.

Since I only eat them fried, I guess I never really worried about it. :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

I don't think he is, Chrissy. He can still spell.

When I drink, I have to correct most every post. You can tell if I am in a hurry or have had one or two, because of all the edits. I never see the mistakes til I post.

I'm usually sober and I have to go back and edit almost all my posts. I'm usually sober, read my own posts, and don't even catch my own bad spelling or grammar. I'm usually just OUT TO LUNCH!

Gee I guess I missed some of this thread. I do nothing but correct my posts after typing as you can see the amount of times I have to edit. Ofcourse, if I've had a few I really don't give a rats behind. :P

Now Miss Heather, I haven't had a clamdigger in 5 days, trying to diet, but tomorrow all hell breaks lose. I'm drinking, and eating anything I want.

Danny, while you fixin, fix me one. :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin: Love that southern talk....................
