dh is working twilight shift these days, so it's just me, and I'm eating very little, just getting over one of those 3-day stomach/intestinal bugs that leaves you feeling like you've been wrung out like an old dishrag.

Stir fry vegetables with savory chicken breast chunks.

Veggies from a frozen bag, sauce from a jar, chicken precooked and pre spiced from a local restaurant supplier (Nat'l Meat and Poultry) bought in frozen bulk pretty cheap.

Tasted just like the real thing. That is if I've ever eaten the real thing. How would one know?

Oh well tomorrow for breakfast is an English muffin toasted with butter and blackberry preserves from France from Walmart. I'll wrap it in a paper towel made from a Canadian tree, stick it in the pocket of my pants from Costa Rica, drive to work in my Mexican made Chevy burning fuel imported from Saudi Arabia and transported to here on a ship registered in Liberia. I'll sit in my chair made in China at a cubicle desk rescued from the junkyard of who knows where. I'll eat that muffin while talking to tech support in India and taking notes with an ink pen made by the blind and packaged by an inmate serving life in San Quentin.

Yup, a worldly breakfast. So when do I wash my hands?

Jane,

This sounds a lot like what I had for 72 hours last month. Believe me, I knew I was past it and did a dance.

Enjoy wellness.

Ugh. I haven't had one of those for years and years; knock very loudly on wood! Used to have them sweep through the whole family when the kids were small. children are little hotbeds of infection. :P

Chrissy, I am so sorry your dinner was so bad, but feel even worse that the drink was terrible too! Did they take it off the check?
When I was visiting my friends in Port Charlotte they took me to a waterfront restaurant and I ordered a vodka martini straight up with a twist, and a plate of oysters. The drink arrived made with some inferior vermouth that made it taste like mouthwash, with ice AND about four olives; no lemon. When I complained, they took it back, strained out the ice and the olives, and added a WEDGE of lemon, and re-served it to me, much the worse for wear and tasting of olives and lemon juice. Also the oysters were terribly muddy and full of broken shell. :whiteflag: :whiteflag: :whiteflag:
When the manager came around to ask how everything was, I told him (nicely). He was nice and apologetic, and when the bill came, all I paid for was my hot crab sandwich (which was very good).

No Heather I didn't say anything to the waiter or bartender. If a manager had come around I probably would have told him, but I was very tired yesterday and just didn't feel like getting into it.

I don't know if anyone as ever gone to P.F. Chang's, also a chain they make very good drink and the food is good. A bit expensive, we were talking about going there, but it was uptown Charlotte and we didn't know the location. Francis and I went out a little later for dinner.
We had a nice time though, I filled up his car with gas. Tonight his girlfriends gets back and I'll make them a nice dinner.

And what are you planning to make tonight, Chrissy? Wish I could be there; I know you are a good cook!

Tonight we are having oven-fried pork chops, fried apples (good way to use tired old end-of-winter apples), Swiss chard. I might just go downtown and get a couple bottles of wine; a stormy weekend coming up!

Heather,
I may make the pasta with cream sauce with a touch of vodka or chicken with two veggies and a salad.
Not sure yet. Never had swiss chard....
I found the wine I love here on sale for 9.00 and another place for $10.00 a bottle.
Bought 4 bottles wish I could share them with you. We have a good time together. At home I pay as much as $15.00 a bottle occasionally.
I have to wash my hair this morning, getting to look like buck wheat have to calm this hair down a bit. :P

If you like spinach, you'll like chard even better. I'll post a thread. So easy and good!

Not making the cream sauce with the vodka tonight.
I'm making an Italian meat sauce, nice Italian bread (I wish) from the supermarket and a garden salad. Red wine merlot (good for sleeping)....

Can't forget the Italian parmesan cheese. (not from a can).
