Today I did something very dangerous as far as my husband is concerned. I went to my favourite photography store. I bought a shutter release cable ($30) to help eliminate camera shake for those close up wildlife shots when I use the zoom lens on 300 which in digital terms is really 480. I also bought a spare lens cap and a couple of lens cap cords so I don't lose them. I haven't lost any yet but I slip them into my pockets then have to hunt for them and I know one day I'll lose one so bought a spare. Also bought another polarising filter to protect the lens and some cleaning gear for the lenses. Found a beaut 100 to 400 zoom lens. L series for the new digital as well as can still be used with the older SLR that I still have. The digital conversion makes it equivalent to a 600 zoom so would be great for wildlife. I didn't get it because it cost more than the camera itself at $1500 but I'll get it one day. Have to work on some serious sucking up to get that one.

You keep this up Annie, and Greg won't like me talking with you any more! Sounds GREAT!!!! Can't wait to see the new and improved pics!!!!!! Greg bought me the card reader yesterday, the one that reads 12 different type cards(?).......I think he felt guilty because he had bought a GPS the day before! We are headed to SD for a couple days, can't wait to see what I can take some pics of!!!!! Wish that instructional CD had come in before now, though..... Oh, I bet you will have that new lens in no time!

There's always anniversary and birthday...either of these coming up soon? At least you USE what you buy. Richard loves to purchase a new digital camera, and then forgets to even take pictures with it.  |

Jackie.....your instructional DVD will probably be there any day now. Mine got here the day before I went to Yosemite. I didn't know there were 12 types of cards to be read.
I thought there were maybe 5 or 6 but 12? WOW - sounds like a good card reader you have there. Have you tried it yet? I look forward to seeing your travel pics.
Heather....thank you for the compliment - your friendship payment check is in the mail Joanne...Unfortunately all those gift giving days are in November and December so I'll have to wait a long time for that new lens I think. Oh well good things come to those who wait.
No hurry.
