I think COE means Corps of Engineers.
I offer the following suggestion only because I am on the committee for the Second Annual Northeast Spring Rally (which is so full we can't believe it,) but I would pick a spot that would be somewhat equal in driving distance for anyone interested. I would not offer a choice of campgrounds to attendees. Pick a campground, pick a date, and go for it.
If at all possible, have someone vet the campground and don't go by websites.
I haven't followed this thread carefully since it's not something we would be able to do, but I offer these suggestions since they were passed on to me and have proven to be valid.

Silly ones. COE campgrounds are all over. They even have their own book, and have many listings in other books.

Texoma has lots of campgrounds that you can reserve a site on ReserveUSA.com

The website has a map that shows all the campgrounds in the US they make reservations for.

Ok a day late and a dollar short.

Hochatown State Park has only one area with the improvements for RV's. About 3 RV areas but only one has hookups. About 23-25 sites. No reservations. Hochatown is the state park on the Lake. The lake is not visible from the sites according to the reception lady there on the phone. Her husband and her camp there with a large fifth wheel sometimes. The do have a few pull thrus.

Beavers Bend State Park is on the nice river below the dam and has a bit more as far a facilities. But no reservations.

Texoma is fine with me, Eufaula has been highly recommended by co-workers.
One of our folks that worked down there pointed out the better areas on Eufaula.

Eufaula is fairly close for me. I don't mind driving down there to look at a few sites, take pix and report, or a friend down there can help me out. I can't make it to Texoma and back in a day with anytime to scout.

I'll get us some more detail on the the areas at Eufaula.

As far as the Corps of Engineers campgrounds I don't know of any that have sewer hookups if that is important to anyone. Now then if there is a marina operation (a concessionare) leasing the land from the Corps, they might have RV sites and maybe sewer, but then again one has to remember the danger of sewer systems in areas near a flood control lake. They may not exist due to regulation. Dump stations can always be located on high ground.

Eufaula sounds fine. Beautiful driving through it last year, told wife I want to go and see it some day.

reserveusa.com shows plenty places in the area. First hand info, Joel, will help a lot in narrowing it down.

Well I guess its time for a drive.

Ya'll think of a date or near time frame. I'm very flexible except for a family reunion sometime in the summer up in North Dakota my Folks and Aunts and Uncles are harping on me about. According to them, they will all be dead by the next one. They usually choose July because of so many birthdays and as usual, I always have to share and since my cousin is/was cute, well you know how that goes.

Two State Parks on Eufaula. Of course probably no reservations. (Reservations are not that important to me, I expect they are to most of you though, I can fit near anywhere)

Many Corps of Engineers areas.

Some concessions. Check out the Tulsa District COE site

http://www.swt.usace.army.mil

then find the recreation areas and lakes on the left hand side for Eufaula

http://www.swt.usace.army.mil/recreat/OPSF...=Eufaula%20Lake

then down at the bottom check out the web links for non-gov't

http://j1j2.brinkster.net/default/default.asp

is one, the Eufuala Lake Association

On their left hand side is Marinas
http://j1j2.brinkster.net/default/default.asp

Evergreen has a link
http://evergreenmarina.com/

sort of high falluten for me, but if one wants fancy they got pretty pictures.

So on the Corps of Engineers lakes here, one will find Corps of Engineers facilities, State run facilities on land leased to the State by the Corps in addition to land owned by the State, and privately run operations on land leased to a private concessionaire by the Corps. Each having different levels of amenities.

I don't need many amenities.

My thing is to sit around and do nothing. On occasion I get up and walk.

No kids here. My tanks can suffice for a couple days.

I'm a 23.5 foot Class A. I don't tow a car so I'm either on foot or take the MH if I need to drive.

Its not any longer than a monster 4 door one ton with one of those big killer shin knockin' hitches hanging off the back. Just a bit taller.

Its my belief that on those Corps sites that say no water, but have electricity, that there is water hydrants, just not at each and every site. Sort of share. Not sure.

Anybody retired military?

One of the rangers told me, but still need to verify, that their is an [unnamed] facility nearby in Mclstr where he use to rent an MWR boat for real cheap.

Could be a row boat and could be DptODfns so I'll check.

"My thing is to sit around and do nothing."

What, no beer? :) We'll get along fine.

Reservation only important after long drive. First RVing trips we didn't reserve (my way) but ended up in place I thought interesting and wife thought simply horrid, so now we do things her way. I'll talk to her about time. Parents are planning a gulf cruise I have to go on. Wife going to Japan, but soon. Otherwise free and clear I think.

We like to do stuff, but doing nothing, well we do that real well!!

We're totally flexible. Anywhere you guys decide to stay is fine with us. A naturist camp would be preferred. :floorrollin: :floorrollin: Especially if it's the hot summer months.

"Naturist camp preferred"

sort of encourages one to think about considering actually stepping slowly into hurry mode.
