Would you infect an area that harbors terrorists with anthrax to force all the people to come to you for antidote? Anthrax is only an example too illustrate the tactic, only has to be something for which you have the cure, the more exotic the better. |

No ,l I would never condone that . So a child will die because his parents are too stuborn to surrender, or an old woman who is too weak to seek help, or some who are not terroists who are threatened by their neighbors if they " turn themsleves in". No. that is evil , and yes I know evil exists, but I do not give it my blessing. Mass poisoning is wrong, I really do NOT SEE TWO WRONGS MAKING A RIGHT! |

Well I would pee on my neighbors' roses, but I wouldn't ever hurt his dog. No, I would not be sneaky and low down for hurting the masses. Instead I would be upfront and use hurt in a more conventional manner. If I do the hurting, I'm gonna stand up for it. Cold Blooded- am I willing to put hurt on masses? absolutely. ---- edit Everybody has to face their God and that effects some folks decisions. If everybody has to face to people that will effect decisions too. If you take away that owning up to what you've done, things could be real real bad. |

Let me put it this way: there are two reasons that I have never been able to support the Death Penalty, though God Knows (assumption, there) some have deserved it: 1. Only GOD has the True Right to decide the moment of the end of a Life. 2. Even MORE important - if ONE, Yes just ONE! innocent life is extinguished (and it has happened here in Canada) and I can tell you of several who WOULD HAVE had it happen if we didnt ban it nearly 40 years ago - then that is ONE TOO MANY! But the question posed is; would I condone my country throwing the fate of thousands to the wind (no pun intended) - for the SAME REASON??? Because SOME of them may have done me harm? I'd rather put a bullet in my head........ |

Pentax, I think I agree with you, but am not too sure. For death penalty, I know for certain I agree. For mass hurt, I think of things that can be predicted or controlled to an extent. Hiroshima, Nagasaki. I would do that. Inflict AIDS on the world and lose control, no. But that is beyond Corky's statement. Corky gets into an idealistic area. Everybody is hurt, but everybody has an opportunity to be cured. Nobody has to die unless that is their choice. Everybody has a chance to come forward. Some will be cured but jailed rather than face the horrors of the impending cruel death. I say, no sneaky business. Put it out front. --- edit putting it out front controls my decisions. |

Call me cold blooded. The bombs on Japan saved more Japanese than they killed, horrific yes but countless American and Japanese lives were saved by the sacrifice of the fewer. So yes, to quote Spock, “The good of the many outweighs the good of the few or the one”. If such action becomes necessary again in the future I will support it, if it is applied with judgment and circumspection and not as revenge. |

No. If we "become" the enemy, who is left to fight against and what would be the point of continued fighting? Was Pogo really right? |

Why go to the trouble if you are going to offer the cure. If you are going to do something like that make sure there is no cure. |
