Good movie. I say wholesome but not Disney. Serious but humorous, not hilarious, just fun. Serious things in our minds and our later lives. Corny but still fight back a tear. Lots of regular Joes' can relate. Highly recommended. Shall We Dance? Took me awhile but I think one of the characters was the housekeeper from the remake of the Disney movie where those twins switched places. That was one of those movies about twins when there really isn't twins. It took me awhile to peg her down, but I think its her. |

Good movie review!! We'll give you your own show, like Mazeppa (sp?) Have you lived in Tulsa long enough to remember that show with Gaylard Sartain?? Early '70's late night comedy. Anyhoo, you can do movie reviews, with say, Linda Soundtrak :yahoo: as your opposing movie reviewer, or we'll bring back Uncle Zeb to work with you. (You're not Uncle Zeb are you?) Have you discovered the "Center of the Universe?" :listen: |

Linda Soundtrack is a one man band. Not heard or heard of the others. Everybody in the Universe has heard Linda Soundrack whether they've heard of her or not. Her voice will be the first from Earth heard on Mars. Gotta love her though. Success. She got right in there and mixed it up and came out on top. |

Uncle Zeb had his own show too, a live kids show in the afternoons. My son was on the show in 1978 on his 4th birthday!! They showed a lot of cartoons. Channel 8 I think. Anyway, we'll get you a movie review show on say, Channel 47. Isn't that the station that is religious during the day and porn at night? |

Romper Room was Nationwide. Little kids got to be on the show for a whole week. At the end of the show Miss whoever would look in her mirror and remember the names of the kids in past shows by calling their names out on the air. This was the first step to getting on Art Linkletter. Local show, local kids. I come home from school to watch cartoons and there is one of my classmates on Romper Room. |

Santa Barbara didn't have any kids shows when I was growing up, but a few of my classmates are now stahs... Anthony Edwards - neighbor and his sister Heidi was one of my bestest friends all through high school. We all surfed together and snow skied together. I still can't believe little Tony is a big star on TV! Their dad had a Porsche and Heidi got to drive us around in it. Brad Hall (SNL and married to "Elaine") good friends with his family too. Little Brad made it big. His dad is a minister, and his sister was my brother's girlfriend in high school. Tim and Joe Bottoms - neighbors, rode the bus home with them every day after school. They lived on a ranch in the mountains. It took us forever to get home dropping off everyone in the foothills and mountains. Center of the Universe |

Thanks Joel ... am always grateful for movies that are worth watching. Almost anything that Steve Martin has appeared in makes me laugh. He's also written some very good essays and some books too--if you haven't read anything of his, here's a link that will introduce you to his writings: Enjoy!!! http://www.compleatsteve.com/biblio.htm Sylvia |
