Almost 1:30 here - not a cloud in the sky. I was talking to corky a little while ago and mentioned it was 47f; I just checked again and it's 50 now! I bet it gets close to 55 later this afternoon. The lawn is getting quite green and the Goldfinches (males) are sure getting bright yellow. (getting ready to impress the "girls", I bet ;) )

We have two sets of triple bay-windows on our south-facing house, and it's so warm in the living room that I have opened the slider to the deck.

And it's not even mid-February yet!

Don't get to use to it! LOL We had beautiful spring-like weather for the last week, and yesterday we got a foot of snow! Winter is not over. :faint: :faint: :floorrollin:

We're going into the 20's tonight and that's cold for us southerners. :nono: :nono:

Hope, sorry, I still want winter to be winter. But what we've got is 5'C(41'F) at 5:30, an hour ago, with rain . That ain't winter. A bit of my 2nd terrace is 'out'. :(

But it's too windy and wet to be pleasant.

Yes, they're forecasting temps closer to freezing in a couple days.

But it's the first sign that we're getting near the end - in BC you are out of the woods pretty much by the third week of Feb. - may get a bit more snow, but the bitter cold is past.

Sorry, Lynne - I can't share your feelings. Suffice to say: Disclosing what I truly think about winter would get me tossed out of this Forum on my nose!

Next week I'm looking at above freezing temperatures for most of the week. Spring is just around the corner. I'm looking for an early Spring too Murray. The day I see a crocus emerge from the ground, I'll know it's here.

They can't be too far away from emerging. Let me know the first one you see, because our weather isn't usually too far behind yours.

Sylvia, I love stuff like that.

A friend of mine in White Rock has seen them already.

My entry faces west. So, mine appear just about the last of all. But I get to enjoy them one more time. & I see them every day as I come home.

April, sometimes lasting well into May for the tulips.

:)

I just checked under the Sumac tree where we have some, along with a few snowdrops - nothing yet. The day was warm, but I think the ground is still pretty cold.

Our snowdrop patch was exposed by the last rain and under the dead leaves I found lots of little green tips emerging. It is cold again now, but Spring is definitely on the way!
