Crazy People!; Desert camping and signs

I'm camped out in the desert north of Yuma on BLM land and seeing what I consider crazy people. Signs all over saying not to camp in the washes or not to cross flowing water. We have mild rain here and heavy rains in the hills yet people camp and drive just the opposite of the signs. Do people really think those signs are a joke? You really think the government is just keeping us out of the best camping places?

It's like people who live along the rivers here, dry creeks most of the year, but come a good heavy rain turn into raging rivers washing out houses, but they insist on doing it, ignoring mother nature's signs.

I just finished watching live coverage on CNN of the rescue of a teenaged boy from the raging L. A. River; looks like he is going to be okay.
