I used to watch the Guppy flying in Santa Barbara, I think they kept it at Vandenberg AFB.

How many stories, spiral stairways and bars does this new one have?

The World just keeps getting smaller.

I'd never even dreamed of flying on the Concord, but I was sad to see it go away.

It's good looking. Makes me wish I still had those almost free flights when working for airlines. Understand layouts can run from all coach to 2 floors, 3 classes, bars, casino, etc. We used to take flights sometimes just for the fun of it and the first class meals...now this would really be a hoot of a ride!

With bigger planes we might do with fewer planes in the air. Air traffic in Europe is at breaking point.
I’m planning a short visit to Canada in the spring and the price of a ticket is about as much as when I went for the first time.........and that was in 1970. There are not many products that kept the same price level for 35 years. :tiphat:

Too bad Freddy Laker's airline went bust. Those were cheap flights across the Atlantic.

Kees,
I admit I envy you...I`m sure you`ll enjoy that trip!
How much is the ticket? (If I may ask, that is )

A friend of a friend recently flew from Salt Lake City to Milano/Italy...and
back of course...for 250 USD. Can you imagine that?

Hi Annelies, I haven't booked yet but have seen some nice offers of € 239 to NY and € 299 to Toronto. Nice prices but unfortunately airport taxes are around € 100.
You know I have booked cheap flights to the UK often and sometimes these airport taxes are more than the price of the ticket. All for the pleasure of being treated like cattle including the probing and patting of intimate places of your anatomy.

Ouch, Sebo that hurts and only because it comes from somebody in a country that only exists because we didn’t want the French as our direct neighbours. :poke:

Be aware you only live 2 hours away from me. :box:

Hi neighbours...what`s up? :tiphat:

Kees, now that`s cheap!
Last summer we paid 1150 Euros for a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to
Denver. That hurt!!

jackd,
the A380 really is a big bird.
When it takes off for it`s first flight...most likely at the end of march...there
will be great anxiety as they couldn`t test everything in simulation.
I`ve read all members on board are wearing parachutes...just in case.

Have seen the Airbus on TV news as well.
The comments are, that is much more technologically advanced and its twin, smaller version (forgot the #) is easier to fly, than any Boeing.
Well, 747 is what? Over 30 years old?
The World goes forward.
