I saw on the news last night that "some" here in Maine want the state to move into a different time zone, the Atlantic time zone. Can they DO that??????????? LOL

Some businesses are saying they would save on electricity for lights since it would stay light an hour later. Huh? So they can save a few bucks, they want the whole state to change. :shoot: I hope it never happens. I can't stay up now to watch the good shows, never mind if they are on an hour later! :faint: :faint:

Just don't see the point in it. Again, the wishes of a few may get major changes made. :(

Jackie,

Fight it, fight it. Of course, it may die naturally, but remember I've lived with being 1/2 hour ahead of the rest of the continent for 21 years. When you want to contact someone in another time zone, you really have to stop and think. & so many are in another time zone.

The other thing is the day light. One year the province decided we would have double daylight savings time. Well, now I like seeing the night come in the middle of June when the days are their longest. On regular daylight savings time, this means I go into the house at just about 11:00 p.m. On double daylight savings time that was midnight. & then to get up and do my usual 6 am stuff the next morning!!!!! :(

Sure, you'd be in time sync with NB and NS, but you'd be out of sync with the states around you. (But then again, you won't be there.... :faint: )

Here in the Netherlands we watch some British tv, mainly the news but there’s an hour difference between Britain and us. Not so long ago we followed the same time for around 4 weeks in the autumn because the Brits changed to winter time later than us.(not any more) but we were so used watching the BBC 10 o’clock news at 11 PM here, that we got totally confused at having the 10 o’clock news at 10.
Must be our age. :coffee:

Lynne, you do have a point! We won't be here anyway. LOL But Maine will always be "home" as our family is here, and it would just be strange to be in a different time zone.

Afer 21 years there are still things on radio that I expect to have happen on the 1/2 hour that happen 'on the hour'.

What you learned as a kid.........

Yeah, but Jackie, they generally call the female dog a _ _ _ _ _! (It's a word which the ORF software automatically screens out.)

:floorrollin: :floorrollin:

& this _ _ _ _ _ will be a senior by every definition in less than 3 years!

:floorrollin: :floorrollin:

You know when you tell someone you hope his/her mother comes out from under the porch and bites him/her.
