I scored 9/11
I missed the Polish baked fish story and the Japanese noodle thing.

Our friend`s brother recently visited China and he attended a private dinner.
As he was the guest he got their special attention and they served him
the claw of the chicken...another time it was the eyes of a fish,
He did not refuse it as this would have been seen as very unpolite.

ARRGH!

Cornelius, at first the article grossed me out, but then I realized that my father and I can't celebrate Christmas without a big plate of raw( of course alive) oysters. So perhaps the fish is not too bad, raw oysters taste very fresh and light, not at all fishy, but when people find out I love the raw they suppose they must taste awful. I guesss we should all learn to be open minded and try new things.

My second son took a class-trip to mainland China in the very late 80's. He said that after a few days, he stopped asking what the food was - he didnt want to know anymore. If it tasted good, he ate it.

I just reread "Joy Luck Club" and it seems to me that every grain of rice left in a child's bowl represents a pock mark on their future spouse's face. So, they are told to eat all their rice.

I could never get the hang of slurping noodles--they'd always slap my nose.

But I could fit in with the Inuit!
