We ordered pizza last night, yum!!! Now it took an hour and a half for it to be delivered! I know the roads were snowy last night, but an hour and a half???? I called them and was told it was on its way. Twenty minutes later we got it, it was slightly warm, but still edible. LOL

Our favorite way of reheating pizza, is on the BBQ grill. Reheats it to just like out of the oven, but better and quicker. Tonghts pizza was better than when it was delivered yesterday! YUM, YUM!

Oh, and its gotta be pepperoni. Greg will eat anything, but my pizza choice is limited to pepperoni and sometimes with bacon added.

Hunt brothers is a chain that caters to the small grocery stores/gas station/crawfish cookers/bbq shacks. Anyway they have the best (sweep the floor) everything pizza around. You can get 2- 14 in. loaded pizzas for 14.00 dollars. Beat that if you can. Mr. Gattis is a huge pizza chain ( I thought) all over the U.S. It has a great buffet and even has dessert pizza. chocolate, apple, peach, etc. Anyway I wish I could find about all the things I cant get here and wish you could get all the thing we can get here. Chocolate pizza????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am ALL over that. I wonder where the closest store is??????????? :yahoo: :yahoo:

One thing that doesn't work here is large seafood chain restaurants. We had a Red Lobster and they closed down. They admitted they couldn't do seafood like they do in Maine. :floorrollin: According to their website, the closest store to here is in NY! :floorrollin:

Jackie, you want good pizza?
Make it yourself! You will not believe how easy and GOOD this is!

Pizza for Two Hungry People

3/4 cup very warm water
1 pkg or 1 TB dried yeast
2 1/2 TB olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp. sugar
2 1/2 cups all-purpose or bread flour

Warm a large glass or earthernware bowl by letting hot water stand in it for a few moments. Pour it out and add the warm water and yeast; let the yeast dissolve. and start to proof (5 to 10 minutes).
Add the salt, sugar, olive oil and stir to blend. Dump the flour in all at once and mix hard till well-blended.
Turn out on a floured surface and knead a little to make the dough springy, adding a little flour as needed to keep it from being too sticky.
Clean and oil the bowl, put the dough back in and cover the bowl with a clean damp cloth. Let rise for 1 hour while you make the sauce. If you want it for later, just punch the dough down after an hour and put it in the fridge, closely covered with plastic wrap (You can even freeze it at this point).

Tomato Filling
1 small can tomato paste
1 small can tomato sauce (plain is best)
2 TB olive oil
1 large clove minced garlic
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp. oregano
Mix with a spoon in a small bowl.

When ready to assemble the pizza, turn the oven to 550F or as high as it will go.
Divide the dough and roll or stretch it into the shape you want, making the edges a little thicker than the middle. Lay the dough on a thin baking sheet and move and adjust to make it somewhat even in thickness.
Spread the tomato sauce over the pizza and lay on your toppings; whatever you like; sliced mushrooms, green peppers, pepperoni, fried and drained crumbled Italian sausage or ground beef, anything you like.
Top the whole thing with a lot of freshly grated mozzarella (if it is good and cold it will grate easily) and a hefty sprinkle of Parmesan.
Slide the whole beautiful thing into the oven on the lowest rack and bake til the smoke alarm goes off, about 20 minutes or a little less. You will know when it's done!
Break out a cold beer or some red wine.
When you eat this you'll wonder why you ever ordered in....

Heather, that pizza sounds wonderful!!!!

When my mother cheats on the crust, she buys frozen bread dough and uses that! Makes for an awesome thick crust pizza!!!!! Of course, it is only good if you LIKE that kind of pizza. LOL

Sometimes I get the boboli (sp) crusts. I absolutely LOVE their pizza sauce. But tends to get expensive.

Funny, we ordered pizza with family last night from the hotel. It took a long time to arrive, so we got a discount. But it still was good pizza. Pizza Hut around here though doesn't deliver salads, like some of the other pizza deliveries. We all pigged out, along with garlic bread sticks.

Have you ever had a "BLT" pizza? A pizza joint made us one of these in Bozeman, Montana. It was the best pizza we've ever had. Add bacon, chopped lettuce, fresh tomatoes and mayo (or MW) to your pizza.

Jackie and Joanne, my pizza costs next to nothing, and taste three times as good as the stuff from the pizza guy...of course, it doesn't come with breadsticks. Also, baking it warms the kitchen nicely in this cold weather.

Heather, when we were in Connecticut we went to a pizza place that was delicious. I think the drive would have been a bit too far for you, I'm sure there are good ones close to your house.
Did you have to post a pizza recipe? Now?....

Sounds delicious. I don't know if we told you while we visited, but Franks' Mom and Dad owned an Italian Restaurant in New York in their younger days. It was great.

Oh, Chrissy, I'm sorry. But....you shouldn't have read it you know. A little restraint....LOL!
I am not eating the stuff either, but I sure do talk about it!

I didn't know that about Frank's parents. Wish I'd had a chance to go there. Nothing like authentic Italian food.

Heather...awww...homemade pizza is the best, of course. Would you make us a "BLT" pizza? We'll be right there, and we'll bring the beer and breadsticks!

I also (when I have a use of an oven) love pizza topped with Feta cheese, artichoke hearts and chicken.
