A truffle Homer could love

"Chocolate-makers have long mixed liqueurs into their creations. Now, a Chicago candy-maker has come up with a twist on the classic pairing -- beer-flavored chocolates.

Chocolatier Katrina Markoff infuses her latest truffles with Jamaican Red Stripe beer and tops the dark-chocolate spheres with crushed cocoa nibs."

She also offers the following: Indian curry, Chinese star anise and Italian taleggio cheese. And then there's the wasabi-ginger truffle.

Thought you chocolate lovers would love this!

Thanks for the link, Chris.
I have to admit, however, that I am not a fan of some of these new flavors; all well and good by themselves, but pretty strange when combined with chocolate.
The link provides a link to some pretty fantastic chocolates, though, in flavors I could handle, such as toasted coconut, Bananas Foster, passion fruit; etc.
Fruit with chocolate is my personal favorite, especially orange creams. And once I tasted a pineapple cordial and have ever since been on a quest to find another one!

Heather,

I found a recipe for making Pineapple Liqueur. You could inject some in chocolate if you can't find the ones you enjoyed.

Here's the link for making almost all of the liqueurs:

Those recipes might come in handy for the 10 days your sister is there over Christmas and the stores are closed.

LOL!! Sylvia, we live in a tiny village but have probably the best "downtown" of anyplace I can think of, and everything within walking distance, including a full liquor store. Everything is open almost all the time, so not worried about that; just maybe how to pay for it all!
The pineapple liqueur sounds delicious! I wouldn't bother trying to get it into chocolate coatings, though; just sip it with the chocolate handy.

Gosh, I hope Chrissy isn't reading this. Her two biggest favorites; booze and chocolate! LOL. (ummmm...mine, too!)

I'm reading it, and my mouth is watering. No fair, talking about things I love to eat and DRINK...
I was shopping last night and met two ladies talking about eggnog...OFCOURSE I DID... I just emailed my recipe to them this morning.

By the way,
The town Heather lives in is so beautiful and quaint. Heather, you stay from that liquor store now, I'm afraid someone will find you out in the garden howling at the moon.   What would the neighbors say. "There's a crazy woman in the yard doing God knows what"... :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

LOLOLolol!
Chrissy, I have had a full liquor cabinet for about 30 years; some of the stuff is really that old. I can't throw it away and I never drink it. All I really drink (in the winter, at least) is Sherry and wines and I do plenty of that! But I do make an exception for your eggnog, which deserves a basic food group designation all its own.
