I am as happy as a clam in ice water! What a great cookbook; if I never get another one, I would be happy. (This makes about 150).
I will be trying it out soon.
(Got it from Wal~Mart online and paid just a little over 1/2 list :) !)

So, lets have all the info. Heather. Author, title, publisher, etc. Who knows, it might make a good Xmas present for my gourmet cook cousin and his gourmet cook wife.

I'm sorry; I guess I thought everyone knew about it. DUH!
It is "The Gourmet Cookbook", edited by Ruth Reichl, the brilliant editor of Gourmet magazine. List $40, 21-something at WM online; just a wonderful book.

But what am I doing?!! Now you all will know my secrets!

Trailblazer, you don't know the half of it!
I also bought myself Photoshop III and a heater for the Sportsmobile; got them wrapped to put under the tree.
Well, SOMEONE has to play Santa.... :dunno:

I do the same thing. I pick up stuff for myself for my Christmas stocking.

I just bought 2 dresses and 4 blouses in Juarez (cheap)...all beautiful hand-embroidered cotton or lace Mexican peasant blouses, the kind I used to wear in my younger hippie days. I'm into a real retro thing, collecting old hippie styles.

How do you like Photoshop III?

Trailblazer, I have it wrapped to put under the tree so I'll have something to look forward to on Christmas morning! :)
I'll let you know! Can't peek, you know.

I was going to put the cookbook under the tree but it is just too big and heavy and I didn't want to wrap it. Besides, once I looked inside, I was hooked.

I'm not up to the gourmet cooking stage of my life - time factor with work - but I will someday. I love cookbooks and have far too many now that I barely use but hey, they don't go bad, so may just have to look into this one.

I too bought myself a couple of "goodies' for under the tree: a new steam iron (mine bit the bullet last week and I vow to now wear anything that needs ironing till Xmas) and also a new jewellry box. Nothing fancy, just one that will hold all my rings. I don't have a beau to get me gifts, my ex does buy something for me each year and my daughter, but I really needed these two and I knew I wouldn't get them if I asked others.

Danny, I have Nigella's book too, and it is a good one too but in a different way.
