Wow! That was quite a spread!
Well, there were only six of us here this year, but we managed to eat quite a lot. Started with baked Brie and crackers, plus three other kinds of cheese, and foie gras pate, and a glass of champagne. Then the brined and roasted turkey, looking gorgeous, very moist and delicious. (It was so beautifully browned, I think I will do that kind of brine every year from now on. Wish I'd taken a picture but everyone was hungry.) With it we had a white wine, shallot and cream sauce, sweet potato and apple and pecan casserole, little buttered green beans from the garden (frozen), homemade garlic bread, and cranberry sauce. Drank lots of a good merlot my brother brought. Then came the tall apple pie and the pumpkin pie, made from baked sugar pie pumpkin. Finished with brandy in the living room and lots of funny stories. Laughter is great for the digestion!
Now I'm going to bed; doing the antique stores tomorrow with my bro. and SIL.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
