Way better than any potato chip, when I bring them to work they fight over it!! 1 1/3 cup canola oil 1 package dry ranch dressing 2 tbsp. red pepper flakes (like what you put on pizza) 1 box UNsalted crackers (premium tops brand) I have never tried any other cracker, but I'm sure you can use anyone you like. In a large sealable container,kinda like a bread saver type. stand the crackers up on edge. depending on the container it should make about 4 layers high. Mix the ingredients together in a bowl real well. Pour over the crackers. Seal the container lay on its side and roll every so often, Kinda like you did with the pickles. DONT shake them. (If you dont know about the pickles, check the archives for them). Roll until all the oil is absorbed by the crackers. Give it about 24 hours and try to stop eating them.

Danny, Never heard of anything like that - it's sounds really interesting. We'll have to see if Heather (queen of the cooking forum) has ever tried them. |

Chrissy, I tried them when Danny first posted them on the other forum, and they are good! However, high in carbs, so guests did the major part of the eating. Cajuns like food hotter than us Yankees; I used 1 tablespoon of pepper and found it quite enough. Gave it a whirr in the mini food chopper first to break up the seeds and distribute it more evenly. |

I just know they don't Acutally we dont wait the 24 hours (never could stand it) we eat them as soon as all the oil is absorbed by the crackers. It is best to wait a bit though. Maybe it has something to do with the unsalted cracker?
