From the Article:

"We hope the president has the political courage to follow through on this," said David Williams, spokesman for Citizens Against Government Waste, a leading advocate of the line-item veto as a means to rein in government spending. "This could be one of his legacies."

Buddy says:

Yea, The establishment of a financial dictator.. That’s a legacy to be proud of.

In four more years.

I find it odd that a President who has yet to once exercise his veto power now wants line item veto privileges.

It is not that I am against it but I am concerned how it would be used. If it targets the the ever-growing, be it Rep or Dem, pork appended to bills, that's one thing. But used to usurp the compromised of the legislature, it gives too much power to, imo, an already too powerful branch. That is why the court struck down the previous version. I also question why Congress cannot do this itself.

Anyone have the proposal?
