Bush ‘s election not a mandate.

Even considering his enormous support from his, ‘bullets and a prayer Posse’, faith based political organizations.

(Corky? What to you think of , ‘The Bullets and a Prayer Posse’. :) )

Bush’s election was decided by 70,000 votes in Ohio.

Some more points.

His was the 3rd closet electoral vote wins., ( he has 2 of the top 3), in 108 years.

His was the 6th closest popular vote elections in 108 years, (He holds #1 and 6 and he lost #1)

Let’s compare Bush’s mandate to Reagan's re election.

Reagan electoral votes 525

Bush electoral votes 286

Reagan popular vote 58.8%

Bush popular vote 51.04

Considering that Bush was a wartime president And that not one President has lost a reelection while serving during wartime.

Bush’s election performance was dismal..

But he went from being the 49% President to the 51%. And he got the most votes of any president in history. That has to count for something. It's being spun that way.

Buddy says:

That’s exactly what it is.. Spin

KERRY WON MORE VOTES THAN ANY WINNING OR LOSING PRESIDENT IN HISTORY. Up to the 2004 election.

It has no more significance than the growth in home ownership.

Home ownership has grown every year since the records have been kept. It is a function of the aging of Americans, and population. It is not evidence of an improving economy.

The issue of home ownership is a subject that Kerry should have addressed. Why he didn’t I have no idea..

Didn't know that, about Kerry winning more votes as well. Sort puts perspective on Bush's mandate.

Why he didn't is because he spent so much time on a few months in Vietnam.

If you want to hear the rest of the story..

You need to turn to Buddy.. :)

Kerry received more votes than Reagan received in both 1980 and 1984.

Bush SR. AND Clinton were never even close.

Bush ‘s election not a mandate.

Most of those who voted for him wouldn't disagree with that statement.

Now you have to convince him of it.

All I have to do is spout out about what I believe.. :)

Bush has to find somebody that will cash his so Called, ‘Political Capital‘..

I think the term was a unfortunate one for him to start his 2nd term off on.

And I think for certain he will find that he was short changed.. :)

Four more years of Buddy crying in his near beer. :mad1: Better than hearing about a failing Kerry presidency. ;) Maybe you can start your Hillery '08' rant.

Negative complaining on forums like this won't help much. Best to write him a letter or two. It might carry more weight though, if you mentioned you voted for him.

Bush ran on his record. He was re-elected. That's a mandate.

A mandate is an instruction form the electorate.

Bush got a mandate and will act accordingly.
