Our daughter and family vacationed in Mexico last year--they'll be going back again this year. We have friends who stay in Mexico for a bit more than month every year. All of them enjoy Mexico.

But Acapulco didn't appeal to us with guards with machine guns standing outside the banks and poverty the likes of which we had never seen. We've never been back and don't intend to go there again. Ditto, undercurrents in the Bahamas.

Not terribly fond of Florida because it is so developed. Have been told that Texas is a great place--pity it isn't a little closer!

Chris,

I was really thinking that they could be bought cheap and I could turn a profit.

Always the capitalist. But I would gladly join you in bringing the people together.

How many's it take to tango, Frank? Both sides sell votes and more cheaply.

You 'would'? Modality of that verb is wrong, if you don't mind my parsing. Your reasoned approach does bring people together who think they're apart. I'll join with you.

More Republican horseflop about Canada. In the linked article, http://www.mytelus.com/news/article.do?pag...ticleID=1758142 , there is a quote halfway down:

Quote:

A gleeful Republican posted this response to suggestions of a liberal exodus: "Enjoy the Molson's while you wait an eternity for an imported doctor making the equivalent of minimum wage."

What crapolla! In 2003, MY M.D. billed the Medical Services Commission almost 365 GRAND! And the specialist who treated me for a stomach problem, got over 592 GRAND!

People are having a lot of fun with that site...I did notice there was quite a response from Europe that are joining in.

This one caught my eye:

"2503 Tom Cologne, Germany I am willing to give an attractive female american (20-26) a new home. Including dream-wedding in Paris and honeymoon in Venice. And if you are homesick, we could visit McDonalds."

If I wasn't married, I think I'd ask Tom from Cologne, Germany for more particulars.

That will make it cheaper for you to visit, and buy products made in the USA. Conversely Canadian product prices will go up for us, so it could hurt your exports. Not necessarily something to cheer about.

I'm not joining in the cheering--we are a manufacturer and know what a rising dollar means. It's less profits--we were in 7th heaven, when it was 60 cents! However, pricing our product is somewhat offset at getting components from the US with bigger dollars.

Well, Sylley, you'll just have to do what the US does - set up your manufacturing plant south of the border, where your strong dollar buys cheap help....

Toledo, Ohio ought to do well...

What a great idea...we would dearly love to outsource ourselves--the Carolina's are looking better and better as the colder weather begins to arrive.

No, no buddy! Please pay attention this time! It's "oh, look there's a bear, EH?"

(why do Americans always have to trample the culture and traditons of other nations?)
