Buddy, I went to one of those northern casinos, and boy was it weird! Kit loves the noise and lights of the slots, so I took him over to one we camped at on our way in Oregon. (casinos always have nice RV parks) I always thought I hated the noise, but this casino was silent. No music from the machines, no coins dropping in the trays. They paid by paper slip which you took to the cashier for your dough. I swear it was like playing bingo in a morgue! But Kit turned a $20 stake into 74 bucks in about 20 minutes on the nickle machines. He always does that - I'm just building up nerve to sic him on the dollar machines one of these days. But, I'll give it a try up north if they need me. Place your bets. Sorry, no pelts or wampum, eh? Another hit, eh? Oh, look, a bear! |

This thing is getting Scary! Over 115,000 Hits on the Canadian Immigration website in one day!!!
It's beginning to look like Dubya's going to have a bigger effect on Canada than the US! Canadian Dollar rises to over 83 cents USD! It's beginning to look like it will continue to rise. Experts are now coming to consider the Dollars reaching par, maybe the Cdn Buck even higher! On Edit: Those of us celebrating the gradual victory of the Ralph Klein Conservative Gospel across Canada are not necessarily thrilled at the thought of all these undoubted liberals coming across the border! |

Brewster says: are not necessarily thrilled at the thought of all these undoubted liberals coming across the border! Buddy says: Oh, You’ll get over it. When the price of a Hummer drops 20% in real Canadian dollars.

To the People of Texas & all Americans in the World-- Fellow Citizens and Compatriots-- I am besieged by a thousand or more of the Socialist Conservatives under Tom Delay and George Bush--I have sustained a continual Bombardment & cannonade for 24 hours & have not lost a man--The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise the garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken--I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, & our flag still waves proudly from the walls--I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid with all despatch--The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily & will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days. If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country--Victory or Death. William Barret Travis Lt. Col. comdt. P.S. The Lord is on our side--When the enemy appeared in sight we had not three bushels of corn--We have since found in deserted houses 80 or 90 bushels, and got into the walls 20 or 30 head of Beeves-- Travis Send this to San Felipe by Express night & day-- |

http://www.adventurekamloops.com/index.asp?p=95 Our winters are probably no worse than Oklahoma or Kansas - a little longer maybe. We're on the Pacific side of the Rockies, which also keep a lot of the Arctic influence away. The freak snow we had last week is long gone. Gets up to 40f or 45f during the day. |
