You know, it has occured to me that maybe Osama Bin Ladin got him elected with that video. Think about it. In some ways they both need each other. Osama helps George justify his adventurers in the Mid East, George helps keep Osama in the limelight. Not suggesting they are in cahoots, but it may explain the timing of the video on Osama's part.

Sure stopped everyone from talking about those STILL missing explosives. The ones several soldiers now say they saw Iraqis truck away.

I heard some remarks from GW at a news conference after the election. He of course seemed quite elated. I'm hoping he doesn't think his win was a rounding endorsement of his policies. When it really was the lack of a decent alternative.

Liberal Conservative
Having been a life long Right of Center Republican, I will happily return to the fold when a nominee that espouses the following:

Fiscal responsibility, cut taxes and programs. Otherwise you are pandering for votes just like one of those hated "liberal" welfare programs.

Strong military used wisely, don't support weapons programs that are unworkable with today’s technology and claim they work to give Americans a false sense of security.

Work for true energy independence so we can tell the Middle Eastern potentates, dictators and mullahs to take their oil and shove it.

Support tax policies that encourage investment in production in America not across the board corporate giveaways.

What your neighbors do in their bedroom is none of our business as long as it is consenting and children are not involved.

God belongs in people’s places of worship and home, not in public life. Not everyone believes the same, so why have a majority force its’ will on the rest? We are a republic to avoid this type of behavior.

Until the party returns to it's senses and starts nominating candidates that support policies like these I will vote for any piece of crap the Dems nominate under protest like I did this time.
Bill, Rita and Chloe the Terror Cat

For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged, by better information or fuller consideration, to change opinions, even on important subjects, which I once thought right but found to be otherwise.

"Fiscal responsibility, cut taxes and programs. Otherwise you are pandering for votes just like one of those hated "liberal" welfare programs."

How else to get elected?

"Work for true energy independence so we can tell the Middle Eastern potentates, dictators and mullahs to take their oil and shove it."

We are working on hydrogen fuel cell developement, it is a priority, but it is not here yet. Meanwhile if we discourage consumption (ie; more tax at the pump, gas guzzler tax), we torpedo the SUV gold mine that's keeping our domestic automakers afloat.

"Support tax policies that encourage investment in production in America not across the board corporate giveaways."

Seems to me if we lower corporate taxes, they wil be more inclined to do business here.

"What your neighbors do in their bedroom is none of our business as long as it is consenting and children are not involved."

Do you really think GW give a rats if gays are having sex? But, he does like votes, especially Cristian fundamentalist votes. That doesn't make him a bad guy, just a realist.
