I have read several recipes on this forum and came to the conclusion that if I tried all of these delicious sounding recipes I would be the size of a house. I have very little willpower and can't seem to get back on the South Beach diet. The members on this forum must have good matabolism. What am I to do?

We get off track pretty often travelling. How can you pass up butter croissants at the bakery that are made with real butter? Or a cold brew on the beach while roller blading by the beach? I've said it before and I'll say it again....you have the right to cheat, but not to quit. (IMHO) That works for me. No guilt at splurging or indulging. (We love to try new foods, ethnic foods, and do use food to celebrate, etc.) So we make a mental note, or agreement to get back on track. No biggie. Now, during the holidays, I cut myself a lot of slack, and then try to start anew on Jan. 1. I'm still losing weight. Maybe I could lose it faster if I didn't get off track. But overall, I feel like a success. Don't be too hard on yourself, and I think you'll do OK. |

I can't seem to get my will powerpower back. While we were away 5 weeks we ate and drank til the cows came home. We did a lot of sitting, as we traveled in the car for hours during the day. Came home ate, drank, little dessert. Relaxed, went to bed. Not much exercise. Now I can't seem to say no to anything. But, I am going to try. Maybe I should block "Seasonings"......Kidding Heather. :help: :help: |

The Atkins book says it takes about 5 days to lose the sugar or starch cravings. Start your day with lots of protein...bacon or sausage or eggs. Beef up on the proteins at lunch. That may help get you back on track. |

Chrissy, I am having the same problems. The German cookies we order each year from GemanDeli.com arrived last week and it was pretty hard not to open and sample them! I had to hide them. The only way to diet is to keep busy with other things and just not have ANY goodies in the house! If my sister doesn't take the leftover Halloween candy this weekend, I am just going to have to throw it out, but I have to do it when Mom isn't looking as she can't abide waste. If I didn't sneak stuff out of the house and into the garbage, she'd be the size of a storage shed. |
