Our election resulted in a minority government, but we didn't have to listen to months and months of accusations about fraud after Election Day.

I voted using a paper ballot that I knew beyond question went into the box and had no qualms that it wouldn't be counted correctly.

Guess we really do live in dream land!

It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. Well you never know, from Greek tragedy came great comedy. It it's a comedy, it will be a black one.

Talking about it gives the Canadians a break from boredom.

It is comedy. Classically, no one learns anything in comedy, except perhaps the audience. Life just goes on. In tragedy, things and people change, at a price. We in the US are not willing to pay that price. We settle for status quo.

How about all those longshoremen who went to the wrong signup hall . 5000 of them looking for a chance to vie for one of the 500 jobs available.

The ones at the "Other" hall got them. Seems a little tight getting a decent wage in that area..HMMMMM

Alright I guess we will have to search the airwaves for bad Canadian news. :bolt:

Bad Canadian news? I believe this is Ralph Klein's last term in office, after which he will step down. That will be a blow to Canadian progressive conservatism. :violin:

Yup Chris, even worse, Ralph's got a bad case of "Foot in Mouth Disease" so far this Campaign.... If he doesn't get his act together (although he usually does) he could be in for a real fight!

By the Way, if Alberta does swing, it'll be right, not left... The Alberta Alliance, a very Right Wing party, is running # 2.. But the Alberta Alliance has very little in their platform that would help the rest of Canada... It certainly would be an interesting development...

The Liberals are suffering through "Foot in Mouth" even worse than Ralph, may be totally wiped out....

I'll run a continuous thread once the US election is over...

I very sincerely hope there will be someone to take over Klein's job and vision when he retires as Canada really needs his preagmatic views on how a province should bve administered and his views regarding the role and responsabilities of provinces vis-à-vis the central power concentrated in Ottawa.
I may not agree with everything he did or think, but he is a voice to listen to (from time to time)

I agree Jack.

He's very much a pragmatist...

In Alberta, he's thought of as a "Middle of the Road" politician. Mind you, you have to keep in mind that Alberta is probably the most Right Wing Jurisdiction in Canada, if not all of North America. So a "Middle of the Road"er here would be very Conservative most anywhere else...

Middle of the road explains progressive conservative. Akin to radical centrist. :)
