After watching the whole tape and rereading the text I offer this as my conclusion. UBL is by his timing, dress, demeanor and speech is trying to transition from a terrorist to a great leader, a leader speaking for his people to the world. We need to kill this man before he makes the transition!!!!!!!!!!!! We are looking at the Hitler or Stalin of the 21st century. |

Well we know one thing for sure. He's still alive and Bush will not be pulling him out of a hat between now an Tuesday. Now why can't, or haven't we killed him yet? Who's hiding him? And what will we do to the country that is responsible for keeping him safe? So many questions, very few answers. |

Read some. He's taunting us, and especially Bush. He keeps, in translation, using "us" and "our" in an attempt as Corky points out to become a leader. But is he? His speaking of Muslims wanting freedom and defending themselves is, imo, true. But is that his goal? His support of the Taliban, says not. His use of Terrorism that kills far, far more Muslims than Westerners, says not. His drect claiming to have tried to kill 50000 civilians, says not. Who will those we are fighting in Iraq believe? |

I believe you are right in that the Muslims may want freedom - but how bad do they want it; and what would you say are the one, two or three things, more than anything, is stopping them from having it. UBL definition of freedom and western definition of freedom is probably not similar. The extremists follow their leaders goals to the point of suicide. Do the majority of "peacefull" Muslims want freedom to the point where they are willing to sacrifice, even to death, to gain and maintain freedom for their people. Can they be secular enough? |

Seems to me, again, more Muslims are dying than Westerners and they are fightiing in Iraq--outright killing the few terrorists and resisting us. We may not agree with them, and see another purpose, but that is how they see it. Palestinians, many of them, have been struggling for freedom as long as the Isrealis. Pakistan. Phillipines. THose have been in the news this last week. Extremists see freedom in terrorism but only for the few, the, so to speak, choosen ones. |
