Tom "Why should this president be held to any higher standard than any of his predecessors. It's just not politically wise to do so."

Isn't it better, allbeit idealistic, to ask why are they are not all held to a higher standard? And rather than politically, is it patriotically wise to do so?

From Eisenhower to this Bush, they have all lied in my lifetime. Damn them all.

(Daniel, I think it bordered on what Pentax said. Soon as personal pronouns come to play.)

Not what. Who, which would be you. Typical liberal. When you run out of arguments, attack the opponent. You wouldn't know the truth if it bit you!

Per, you deserve the comeback, but PM me and I'll give you a dozen cases of that here by those who call themselves conservative.

Chris,

I'm sure you can give several examples. However, any such examples does not make it any more right. Let's stick to the rules! :rules:
Nevertheless, so far I have seen this board as considerably more civil than the old AtC, and a lot more so than the breach. While I have perused the breach, I have found the attitudes of the posters--including some that are here--to be be distasteful, and I had hoped we could avoid that here. For that very reason, I have so far avoided even posting on the breach. The radical conservatives are as bad as the radical liberals!
Once you get into personal attacks, the discussion quickly deteriorates into name-calling, and we get enough of that in the news from the candidates. This particular thread is one of those where you can substitute the subject with that of the opposition and have a similar discussion. :box:

Once again PLEASE show me what I said that was uncivil. If you can't then I will assume that you are just being too sensitive. Typical .

I did notice that you have broken the rules here quite openly. I on the other hand have not.

This discussion was about the issue until you posted:

I also notice that you have turned the focus on an ex President in order to avoid explaining why this current President is unwilling to tell the truth about Iraq. An old trick overused by many.

Bob and weave, shift and step. The truth is still THE TRUTH!

You turned from a discussion on the issues to a personal attack. If you don't think you broke the rules, more power to you.

What I have a lot of problems with is the blind hatred of our President prevalent in many. At the same time, any criticism of Clinton seems to evoke an immediate emotional response from those who apparently see him as the inheritor to Camelot. Clinton refused to go after Al Queda after the first atttack on the WTC, he had numerous opportunities to go after Bin Laden, but did not have the backbone to do so. He launched cruise missiles against a pharmasuitical plant in Sudan with less evidence than the President had on Iraq, he engaged in a misguided war against Milosevics for no valid reason, yet he is adored by democrats! His wife had the nerve to say in her book that she did not know about Bill's affairs--if we are to believe that, she has to be a lot stupider than I believe she is! She was obviously bribed with the senatorial slot in New York with a promise to put her on the ballot in 2008. And with this disgusting pair of liars someone has the nerve to call our President a liar?

Well since you wont let me address you personally I choose not to respond to your posts.

Let just say for the record that this thread is not about Clinton.

This thread is about why the Bush administration will not EVER say ONE thing negative about themselves and what they are doing in IRAQ. That and the army of DITTO HEADS that refuse to hold them accountable for their actions.

Sorry, but it looks to me like both parties to this disagreement are making this thread untenable. If it continues this thread will be closed.

Sylvia,

You might as well close it. The thread was nothing but trolling in the first place. It's obvious there was never any real discussion wanted.

Do you suppose that the Republicans remember how they savaged Eugene McCarthy when he admitted he made a mistake in supporting our actions in Vietnam? Do you suppose they think that the Democrats would do the same to them now?

Colo, I'm sure there would be some that would make hay out of it.

For me it would be a breath of fresh air.

My hair is only just past shoulder length but I am getting to the point of taking out my old well worn headband.
