Chris,

Don't get me wrong--I think forums are a great place for learning. I learned a lot from the old AtC, even with the back-biting over there. BIGG had a lot of good information that made you think, even though he was obnoxious at times. Eric (NGC1514) had a wealth of information on space and astronomy. The nature of that forum allowed a variety of subjects to come up, and even the heated discussions had sometimes good info in them. For the most part I attempt to keep a perspective that what I say on the forum would be the same thing I would tell to your face, many posters have no such qualm.
