Justine, I suggest you read some history of the region. About Iraq especially. And you don't have to go back to the dawn of science and mathematics. Just last century when Iraq was considered one of the most democratic, highly educated nations there. Iran was not far behind. The "very strong group of wackos who do nothing but kill , destroy, and incite hatred" are few in either of those nations even today--probably more of the Christian sort in the West. Pull out and many will fill the vacuum of liberal democracy. |

I realize they( the Iraqi people ) are not all wackos, I meant that there is a " very strong group" as in there is a minority leading the country into the grave and until other nations pull out, the majority will not take their rightful place. Handing it to them will not be effective. The better majority has to fight it out, freedom has to be earned, and yes that often involves blood and tears, I think our own nations are good examples of that. Look at the good that came form your own civil war, no other country handed a victory to you, and yes many died( which is always regrettable, but are the growing pains of a nation) |

What can I say here Chris? I just don't see the point of this line of questioning. As I said, seems a little dramatic. Is "attacked" too strong a word for you? I think people attack other people's positions all the time on here. Is that not your perception? On #1, I disagree. It just may not be "power" as you define it, but there is certainly some element of it in many conversations. |

What I see is someone bash Bush and you take it as personal attack. Not just you, but here I see that. And not just Bushophiles but Kerryophiles as well. If no so, I am wrong. |

Never said that. Defending positions. However human. So there is some ownership in anyone's position. |
