The water supply is in shambles and raw sewage is running into the rivers. The ammo and weapons have disappeared into the hands of insurgents. The hospitals are full of injured Iraqis from daily attacks. Their kids are immunized and our seniors are doing without flu vacine. More oils is wasted due to daily attacks on pipelines and terminals. Less oil flowing thru the lines now than when Saddam was in power and selling oil for food. Most of the trained Iraqis are not trusted by American troops and most will not fight. Many have turned on our troops with weapons supplied by us. Bush is a flop and he is flip about it.

So why are 130,000 US troops still in Iraq if we have turned it into such a PARADISE???

It has been my personal experience that most of the war's cheerleaders do NOT have a son in combat over there. Neo-cons are happy to send your son while their son stays at home.

The list of apparent major improvements in the living conditions in Iraq has appeared before on the net.
From what is reported at the thruthOrFiction.com site, most of it is total fiction or totally unproven.

So who said it's a paradise?

Loose accusations about who does, or does not go to war are irrelevant to the issue of whether the war should have been fought! You may have missed out on the fact that we have volunteer services!

Just a naive question. If you have "volunteer services" why do your young have to register when they hit a certain age? What is that list of citizens old enough to serve used for if you don't have a draft?

the list looks good, but the numbers are only a drop in the bucket, so far.

there are 10 million kids in Iraq....over 25 million people.
looking at the CIA fact book, I see a big difference in population numbers between young people and older people. life expectancy is evidently not good there.

I think our government was misled by some of the Iraqi refugees that came over here and told a big pie in the sky story about how very ready their country was for democracy, etc.
I think there is a large faction of Iraqis truly wanting a democracy...but they are far outnumbered by those who want an islamic theocracy, and bordered by two nations who don't want them to succeed in anything, much less western democracy.
at present, the way I see it, Iraq is having a civil war...in which we are supporting the smaller group who is making a bid for a democracy.
but it reminds me of iran, the phillipines and cuba.

The registration system is left over from the draft in case we would need added miltary personnel. We do need a military, so if there were no volunteers, I guess we would need to start the draft. This has not been necessary since forced induction in the military ended.

Big RED HERRING! Has little to do directly with what he posted, and is an opinion. Others have pointed out he said nothing about "paradise."

And 30,000 "terrorist" Iraqis have been killed. We sure showed the world who is boss. So now if there is any question, 10 to 1 is the price for killing Americans. Oh, and don't forget the 1000+ "coalition" deaths.

Now, off to Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia and any other country that harbors people that hate America.

When we are all done "fighting for Democracy" we will be loved by all.........that is left.

And if some one produced a list of all the bad things happening in Iraq the cheerleaders here would pout and call it one-sided bias and not fair.

For starters, think about what the truth is. Then apply it to any solution.

The truth is we were wrong to invade Iraq based on the claims of the current administration. We have damaged our credibility.

If you/we spend more time searching for the truth, instead of defending a false version of it you/we will come up with the solution on your own.

And I, and many others (which is also a logical fallacy - know which one?) respectfully disagree with your premise.
