Hmmm. I dismissed Kerry so long ago I guess there's much I don't know about him.

Question, casual one, where do lawyers make their big bucks? Big business?

That would be many make their money from big business.

And who be the party of?

Business is usually associated with Pubs. Lawyers & Dems seem to be against business, and the trial lawyers make money screwing business.

The Rep and Dem associations you invoke were perhaps true that long ago.

Maybe I don't have as much clarity on the blurring of ideas in these two parties as you do. Would be interesting to see where we are in another 10 - perhaps it will be clearer by then.

Keep in mind, the Reps were once the libs and the Dems the cons. They're both slightly left of center now. Just the swing of the pendulum.

Aren't the majority of law students still going into business law? And aren't the majority of those going into business law employed by big businesses? How does that make lawyers against business?

That would be an interesting stat to see, if it can be found. I think of the trial lawyers as the ones that go for torts.

How embarassing I feel like I live in a third world country. This is the USA. We can't have an election without a lawsuit? Oh well I guess it is better than a civil war. I think Afghanistans election willn go off better than ours. I AM HUMILIATED IF THIS ELECTION BECOMES A LAWYERS PLAYGROUND.

It is a shame, or is that spelled sham?

Karzai wins the presidency of Afghanistan. At least we can applaud their advance.

A "lawyer's playground" sounds about as much fun as hell.

When the party that loses but claims victory and sues using its many lawyers, who pays the lawyers bill? Are they paid by private money of the loser claimed winner, the political party's funding from private contributions or do we, the tax payer, pay the attorneys bill?

Isn't there somewhere we can like pay $59.95 (maybe from Nevada) & get a lawyer's liscence? By the time anybody figured it out, we could have a ton of money!
