Annie, those are amazing. Way back when, I visited your website; don't you have a lot more pics of the alluvial fans? Or did you post them on the other forum? Wonderful patterns. |

Thank you Heathertee, You certainly have a knack for capturing beautiful flowers. Waht sort of camera and lens do you use? I can see I'm going to have to visit Portugal. I think the climb down the cliff would be worth it to go to that beach...although I can see me sailing a boat into the bay and anchoring there for a few days/weeks rather than doing it the hard way climbing. |

Thank you Annie...it is my new Kodak 6490. Has a macro close-up feature (using the same lens, a Schneider Kreuznach Variogon)) which is what I always wanted. I don't think I can photograph insects with it though, which is another thing I've always wanted to do. Still, it is new and I have a lot of experimenting to do. I love that when I run out of "film" all I have to do is download or charge the battery. I absolutely drooled over that beautiful water. But if I tried to climb down that cliff, they would have to airlift me out! |

Thank you Chrissy, but I believe it's the equipment. I have been taking regular pictures for over 50 years and could never take ones like this. I could SEE them, but was nearly always disappointed in the prints. This is so totally different; since you can see them right away, it is a true learning process; none of that old "I wonder what I did to get this?". As I said earlier; a whole new world! Looking forward to your visit. PM me what you want to do, if you got my list of possibilities. |

WOW...what an amazing place. I'd love to kayak around there. One of those places where a photo will always come out great no matter what the weather and lighting. Beautiful photo. Thanks. (I stole it for my collection)

Just bought a new digital camera this week and tried it out this afternoon in my hometown. Not my favourite picture but just to show you what the orginal Haarlem looks like.

Very nice picture. It reminds me of Volendam we visited a few years ago. We have some very found memories of Holland, especially our first (and only) night spent in jail in Bergen ann Zee..... a long story. We had found this nice little bed & breakfast in Bergen ann Zee late one afternoon where we left all of our things (suitcases, etc) and decided to go for a walk and dinner. We were advised by the owner when we left (an old lady) to come back before 10PM, otherwise, the door would be locked and she would not answer. A long walk, a long dinner with a few good bottle of wine....and we were back at our place at about 10:30PM.Door locked. Knocking and rigging at the door prompted the old lady to call the police. After explaining our ordeal, the police officer tried to convince the old lady to open the door and let us in.....no way she said. He offered us to come and sleep in the local jail where there we no other "room mates", which we gladly accepted. We went back to that bread & breakfast place the next morning.....to have breakfast. Keep the picture coming. JackD |

WHAT? There are 7 clearly visible people on the picture and all of them have shirts on. No rattle snakes. I guess all went down 1 km deep canyon. |
