As of this morning, the Kerry campaign is admitting that the senator's first purple heart for an injury suffered on 12/2/68, "may have been for an unintentionally self-inflicted wound." This startling admission seems to have come about, after reporters showed them Kerry's own diary for 12/11/68, in which he wrote that he and his men, "hadn't been shot at yet." When our son was little, if he got a boo-boo, his mother would slap on a GI Joe Band aid and give him a kiss to make it well. Sounds like it was a shame Kerry's mother wasn't at hand back in 68. |

Roscoe, Kerry's lying is an issue facing this country. 1. He lied about the events surrounding the Rasmussen "rescue". 2. He lied about Cambodia. 3. He lied about his first Purple Heart. 4. He lied about his comrades in Vietnam. Character counts! Dan |

Will all we hear is 30 year old news for the rest of the campaign. Lets hook the both of them up to a lie detector and each party gets 50 questions. While We are at it We can test all the senators. That sounds like fun. ALL politicians are crooked. It's just a matter of how much and how good they are at concealing it. What are the requirements of a Purple Heart Medal. |

Dan, Bush hid in the TANG to avoid any chance of combat! Bush didn't maintain flight status and further avoid risk. Bush made an agreement and then failed to follow through, wasting taxpayer money spent on training. Character is discounted on both sides! |

Jeez, didn't I read that recently someone had come up with a foolproof way to determine whether there was another shooter on the grassy knoll? It's been investigated for years, commissions have sat, evidence has been presented 'til people are sick of hearing the conspiracy theories. Viet Nam was ages ago. Why pick at old scabs? Sylvia |

Corky the Pretend Republican--try again. Bush legitimately enlisted in the TAG. Bush received a full honorable discharge from the TAG certifying he completed requirements. How does this compare to the direct lies by Kerry regarding his service which have been fully exposed and documented, to the point the Kerry campaign has admitted the truth on 3 of the 4 and you can bet they'll have to admit all of them before it is all over? It doesn't and you are grasping at straws to bash Bush as usual. Dan Dan, consider this a second piece of public advice. Stop flaming. Chris, Administrator |

Bush CAN"T run on his record unless you are happy with the mess in Iraq, the deficit, etc. Wars will continue and the economy ebbs and flows but for my family Bush's stance on the environment is a major reason why we will NOT vote for him. We are voteing against Bush, not for Kerry... Ken Auburn Ca. |

That's fine Ken and those are legitimate reasons to question/bash Bush. A lot of Republicans are very unhappy about Iraq and the deficit. My personal belief is that the devil is better than the deep blue sea and I do not believe John Kerry will adequately defend this country against terrorism. So I'm staying with Bush though I would have jumped in a heart beat had the Dems nominated a credible, centrist ticket. Dan |

Dan, Care to prove the legitimacy of GWB's enlistment in the TANG or even the legitimacy of any enlistment of a non veteran in the TANG during time of Draft. I'm very interested in the fact that he was completing his service satisfactorily while not be capable of doing the job he was enlisted for. You know where the orders changing his pilot status are. Neither you nor GWB have ever stood, with orders in your hand, wonder what fate has handed you. Somebody had to take GWB's place in that spot, he bought safety! |

Dan, I can only hope that with a Democratic President and a Republicn congress they will be too busy fighting each other to pass more "helpful" laws. I figure that Kerry would defend us as well as Bush and I do NOT believe that I am any safer now then I was on 9-10-01. Today in our small local newspaper there was a photo of a young Iraqi boy standing and crying next to a shot up car. The story said his mom was killed and his dad wounded in the crossfire between the US and Al Saydirs milita in Najaf. When I saw the photo I could not help but wonder "WHAT IN THE HELL ARE WE DOING IN IRAQ.?" Also I can almost guarentee that the young man when he is an adult will not blame Iraqi's for his mother's death so I was probably looking at another future suicide bomber. We may have invaded Iraq with great intentions but we will be judged by the results. It appears to me that NEITHER Bush nor Kerry can run on their records so they plan to throw mud on the wall and see what sticks. I don't give a hoot that Kerry went to Viet Nam and Bush didn't. I am concerned with the future of the USA. Ken Auburn Ca. |

Lies, lies, and damned lies. What a tangled web we weave when we practice to deceive. He who said politicians are excreted, not born, said it best. :ph43r: |
