Nowdays there is a lot of talk about veterans, on tv, the internet, and on this forum. How many of you have actually went to a VA National Cemetary and paid your respects?

I have been to Arlington National Cemetary several times. I have visited General Patton's burial site in Luxembourg, and the American Cemetary at Pointe du Hoc, Normandy. They were very emotionally moving occasions. |

At least buy a poppy when they set their table up at the local store. Tell them Thank you. Many can't be bothered to do that. When you stick a flag in the ground for one of your loved ones on veterans day bring a few extra for those that have no visitors. |

We should all show respect for those that have done their duty. |

I have been to Arlington. I used to go to the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punch Bowl in Honolulu often. I also have been to the Arizona Memorial at least a dozen times. That one will give you something to think about. I also went to a cemetery when I was in Boston not long ago. They had Revolutionary war dead buried there. That was something to see. |

Ever been to the Getteysburg cemetary/battlefield and look out over the "peach orchard" battle field (Picket's charge) and the big and little round top hills where tens of thousands were killed over a weekend. You can feel their presence. |

Arlington, The Punch bowl in Hawaii, Gettysburg, many others---all powerful reminders of those who have sacrificed all. Too bad some hold the military and veterans, alive or dead, in low regard. All too common in Hollywood, among others! |

II would guess that some in Hollywood do, but currently I don't hear any knocking of the service men and women just their commander in chief. When the commander in chief is no longer the politician in chief then perhaps …………… |
