'morning Folks, Morning temp this a.m. of -.9F That qualifies as winter! Not too much snow last night--not enough to shovel, and that's what counts. A bit of insulation on the ground is a good thing. I have an appointment this morning with a contractor about the roof leak and some plumbing issues (the pipes are too old, and spring pinhole leaks). Maybe I can get some insulation under the bedroom too. I had a few inches put in the ceiling before the new roof went on, but that's not enough! Youz guys have a nice day, JM |

Second day of freeze. I know, nothing you all Yankees are used to (I grew up north of Chicago), but down here this is rare. Schools, roads, companies (
) closed. A couple pics, I'll post more under Home.![]() ![]() Not sure the pics bring it out but there's a coating of ice over everything, truck, strawberry, ground, trees... |

A snazzy truck Chris. I looked at your garden pictures with all the ice....how sad. All of that work and now all the baby plants are dead.
I have two girlfriends in Texas. One is in the DFW area and had the fins on her heat pump freeze up so she is using alittle electric heater in what ever room she is in. No word from her today so maybe she drove to her daughters. The other friend is not far from Austin...not good where she is either. They are both widows so it is hard for them living alone I am sure. I told them yesterday I am not going to Texas this winter I would not even think of driving poor Inga down there.....

I think many of the plants will survive, the lettuce, the spinach, carrots, radishes, onions, maybe even the strawberries. Hopefully! May be selling that snazzy truck and the 5ver it pulls. Have a potential buyer. Things have changed, time to think smaller! |

Lately I have been thankful that Inga is old....the insurance is very cheap and I don't have to feel guilty about keeping her cause I would not get much if I sold. That big truck must not get very good gas mileage....Looks like weather in DFW is getting worse. My girlfriend needs to get to Wacco to catch a plane so called to re schedule. I am just hibernating in the house with scaloped potatoes in the oven and will make the Walleye to go with it for dinner.

I get around 16 something mpg going to work and back at 75 mph. Not bad for this size truck, but not good either. Saw news about DFW, trucks and cars slippin' and slidin' and only getting worse. Here it's thawing out at about 34, took the truck out to get some food, roads I took were fine, but I10 may still be closed through SA. |
