'morning Folks, Yup, I'm cheating, it's still Monday to the west of the east, but that's life. I'm up now...can't say the same thing for a reasonable hour later. It's been snowing! Not too much, just enough to get the overtime flowing to the plow drivers. The towns around here have been saving big $$ with nothing on the ground. Just a bit of lake effect--shouldn't amount to much. Nothing on the agenda yet...'cept sleep, so you early risers have a good day.... JM |

Good morning, all, Dropped back down into the 30's last night - that's closer to what winter in Atlanta is supposed to be. Found several clumps of daffodils pushing up out of the ground; we've seen them in February, but never in January. Keep telling 'em to "Go back!" but they never listen. Just checked Newegg and looks like all the pieces and parts of the new machine have shipped with an expected delivery date of Friday, the 11th. Also realized that, not only did I forget to order any optical drives, I need to get a keyboard and mouse for the new machine! Definitely going to have to make an emergency run to Fry's before setting out on the construction project. Not that going to Fry's is a painful experience EXCEPT for the hemorrhaging credit card! Have a good day. |

Looks like time to implement new member registration. Too much spam. I'll try and do this evening. Would rather learn how to build my own computer since it's sounding so easy! |

Chris, We'll find out how easy it is in a few days. I had planned on posting (either here or on my own web page) a complete illustrated history of the building process starting from the arrival of the boxes from UPS until the machine is up and running in a stable configuration. One of the reasons why I selected the Asus P5B mother board is because it's supposed to be very easy to overclock with it. The last time I overclocked a computer it was done with a soldering iron and a handful of chips! Sorry about the spam. The end of the internet will come when we choke on the effluvium of spam and junk. |

This would be very informative, Eric. I've read many articles on the sites that sell custom built machines and build-it-yourself components, and the articles usually try to cover so many variations that the article becomes almost unreadable. |

Criminy, prokazznikz, a porn spammer, after being deleted twice, tried to register a third time just now. You can imagine what my email to him said, lol. That felt good! |
