My very best friend found a lump in her breast a few weeks ago. She got the results back today.. she has 2 tumors. I don't know the results yet. I just tried to call her but she must be in bed. Nicole just told me she called and I guess she spoke to my daughter. Ursla spoke to her when she called the first time. ![]() I am numb.. you will have to excuse me for a bit |

Karen, treatments are so much different nowadays, they've come a long way. A close friend of mine, his sister was diagnosed with breast cancer years and ago and has been cancer free. Frank's. niece 34 years old was diagnosed with breast cancer she is doing very well. I know you're upset, will keep both of you in my prayers.

Breast cancer (indeed, many cancers) are no longer the horror they were not too many years ago. New treatments and drugs have allowed us to reach a point where more than 50% of those diagnosed with cancer are cured. If you include skin cancers in that number, more than 75% are cured. My sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and is doing very well. Her brother (yeah, the cancer gene runs in her family) was diagnosed more than 6 years ago and is also doing just fine. There is no reason why your friend can not do equally as well. Those are the facts. All of the facts in the world do not prepare us to hear that we, a loved one or a friend has cancer. My sincere hope is that your friend does ok with this. Her path will be made easier with your help and support. |

I spoke to her this am before I came to work. The doctor just said I need to see you on Mon. I wish I was in Ontario right now
