Tonight I am ashamed of many of those who reside here in the twin cities metro.

Today was a bad day. The once again severe storms started at about 8am this morning. Heavy rain, wind and hail 4 and 1/4 inches in diameter. A record size and millions in damage. Metro television stations covered the never ending storms throughout the day. Karma and Rommel barely had time to go out to "go".

Towards dinner things really got bad with straight line storm moving in on me from the NW and a mile wide tornado making a many mile swath through a farming community to the south of us.

People in the tornado area had their houses, barns etc leveled and farm animals running loose.............by now the metro storm had moved through but the farming comunity still has tornados on the ground. Most of those people get their television coverage from the metro local stations.

Our local stations announced complaints that people here wanted to watch their favorite show.....get rid of the storm coverage to the south of us.

The shows are back on the air........the tornados are still on the ground in farm land. ( I have national weather)

Is it finances or a competive city life style that incites this uncaring attitude?

Our local news seems the opposite.

They will interupt and stay on and on and on and on.

But then our local news stations have lots invested and try to convince the people that the equipment is the best.

You can't please everybody and some folks have difficulty knowing where to draw the line.

I'd hope that all would err on the side of safety and can accept that, but when it gets into erring on the side of $$$ or convenience shame on them.

When it gets so bad, my babies got their butts puckered so tight they can't go anyway, and even if they could you can't get them out from underfoot with dynomite.

They wait.

As we live more and more of our lives in front of TVs and computers we become isolated.

I think you are right Chris.....

Here is a copy and paste to my Girlfriends board.

I am very worn out today after storms for over 12 hours yesterday. So thankful no damage to me. Others not so fortunate. My spirits were lifted when I saw that bj, prowler, and sharon were able to post and are okay. I am concerned about Diane since I know the storms hit her too.

Will check in later.

Many people today think only of their own gratification and care less about what others are going through. Sad.

yet many people reach out in ways that could not be anticipated. You know Orson. He is 100+ pounds of energy. Yet, when I have been hit with medical problems there are people that step forward and volunteer to take care of him while I am in the hospital. Are you that brave?

It is probably not that bad. I was having dinner with friends. Orson entered the room carrying their cat in his jaws. Uh oh. Limp body. Oh gosh no. As they got closer, I could tell that the cat was purring. Orson was just giving her a ride.
