Why, you said "Christianity does not do a good job preventing immorality. But it does offer forgiveness to those who want to repent, thanks to Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. And that is the whole point!" The whole point. The whole point is anyone can. There is no elite. Eternal life? More metaphors. Nothing is certain but death and taxes. |

You mean, not lower-case l, life, but upper-case L, Life? I would say I prefer real life to the Ideal Life for I can know the one through observation and experience but do nothing but guess about the Other. |

Accepting? I cannot accept or reject what I cannot know. Over there? It's a place? How do you know this? More of the same? Doesn't the Bible say something about dust. |

What do you imagine could possibly occupy your time, mind and consciousness for eternity? Most people I know are bored out of their gourds if left to their own devices for a couple hours, but you're not talking hours, you are talking forever. A span where hundreds of quintillions of years are not yet the first instant to be endured. Accept just stopping? Nay, I'm counting on it!

Being a good and faithful citizen I worked all my life. Being retired, wow,I have realized what bs so many fear. That is the lack of work to make you feel good. What a crock that was. Now if you just cease to exist after this life on earth and not have a glorious existance in the hearafter what a bummer that would be. Ya just gotta have faith that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Do I hear an amen.

If you ceased to exist, and was not congnant in any way how would it be a bummer? Seems that would be preferable to eternal anguish, fire and damnation anyway. Which if you were to believe some is where the majority are headed for. Live your life before it has fled, because once your gone your a long time dead! |
