'morning Folks, Fog and high humidity again here in the northeast. The mid-west probably isn't doing much better, since this weather is coming from there. One more day of thunderstorms, and relief comes tomorrow in the form of cooler temps--70F for a high. From the looks of the CS Headlines, I think I need to check out << Reining In The Muttawa >>. This one should heat up fast... "religion police" seem to have that affect on people. Karen, I can only imagine (and probably not very well) how frightening it is to have someone close in such bad shape. Difficulty breathing is something that motivated me to quit smoking 16 years ago. Not many things as scary as the feeling of suffocating. Transplant lists are another matter; but you have friends... and there is not much you can do--which is also hard--to watch and do nothing. We are all keeping both of you in our thoughts. Yawl have a good day, stay cool, JM |

Today, DH is finally RETIRED. 41 years with the airlines as an A&P mechanic, and 4 years in the Navy before that. He is currently napping on the couch.

Now that's a fine start, too! After 45 years (just think about that - 45 years!)of doing what somebody else tells you to do, whether you like it or not, it's really the "little pleasures" that mean so much, Jane. One of the most profound things that I realized a little ways into retirement was that I had my LIFE BACK! Good for both of you!

My best to your hubby, Jane. After two weeks of being retired... I think I'm gonna like this! Napping? You sleep when you're dead. Now's the time to be out doing all those things you never had time for before. |
